In order to help students have a more realistic view of the fierce competition in the current business market, the Foreign Affairs Department coordinated with the Faculty of Tourism – Hospitality to organize a thematic report at room B57, Su Van Hanh campus.
Recently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages - Information Technology (HUFLIT) had the honor to welcome Dr. Aaron Loh from Assumption University, Thailand to deliver a special report on “Urgent and recent important development in the business world: What and how should we be prepared”.

According to Dr. Aaron Loh, the world is currently facing not only a pandemic as we know it, but also a larger economic crisis that is quietly unfolding. This is a common consequence of the world’s globalization; the geopolitical situation; conflicts leading to energy shortages; and even the rapid development of technology. This crisis negatively affects everyone’s lives and tends to get worse before it gets better.

The aim of this thematic briefing is to bring about a better understanding of what is happening, and to give ideas on what people can do and how at different levels to prepare, protect themselves and mitigate adverse impacts.
In addition to the main topic, lecturers and students attending were also equipped with practical knowledge about the business market through recent social issues such as the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on the GDP index of each country; or the importance of developing personal brands to have the opportunity to get closer to the needs of businesses and serve society.
The presentation session was attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality and more than 120 HUFLIT students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, the Faculty of International Business Administration, the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

Dr. Aaron Loh shared that he had been a guest lecturer at HUFLIT about 10 years ago, so this return was like returning home with many emotions when meeting his former students as well as his former colleagues. HUFLIT hopes to continue to have the opportunity to welcome Dr. Aaron Loh in the near future to continue listening to his interesting sharing as well as helping students gain more knowledge and useful lessons for life.
