“Little Forest – Forest in a Jar”: A Small Journey of Nurturing Greenery in the Heart of HUFLIT
The lobby area of HUFLIT’s Sư Vạn Hạnh campus came alive with vibrant shades of green during the workshop “Little Forest – Forest in a Jar” where students created their own miniature forests to embrace nature and convey a message of sustainable living and balance amid the fast pace of modern life.
The activity, organized by the GREENHOOD group in collaboration with Art Vendors, aimed to encourage HUFLIT students to explore the art of terrarium-making while promoting a sustainable lifestyle and mental well-being in today’s dynamic academic environment.
Under the detailed guidance of artisans from Art Vendors, students carefully layered soil, moss, and pebbles before gently placing tiny plants inside—each terrarium reflecting a personal sense of calm and connection to nature.
The true charm of “Little Forest” lies not only in the finished terrariums—clear, vibrant, and full of life—but also in the sense of tranquility the workshop brought to participants. Amid the pressures of academic life, each student found a peaceful moment to breathe in the scent of soil, admire the greenery, and reconnect with the simple bond between humans and nature.
Ms. Nguyễn Thái Giao Thủy, Lecturer at HUFLIT, shared: “I was delighted to join HUFLIT students in the ‘Little Forest – Forest in a Jar’ workshop. Experiencing the process of planting in a glass jar you create yourself is truly meaningful, and I felt honored to take part in such a wonderful activity.”
The event concluded with bright smiles and small “forests” carefully carried home by HUFLITers. Each terrarium told a story — a feeling, a personal touch of greenery, a nurtured love for nature, and a strong message of environmental awareness cultivated through the hands and hearts of HUFLIT students.
