Series of activities to promote reading culture in 2025 “Touching the horizon” – Journey to awaken the love of reading
In response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day on April 21, 2025, HUFLIT Youth Union and Association coordinated with Thai Ha Books to organize activities in a series of activities to promote reading culture for students in 2025 with the theme “Touching the horizon”, attracting the attention of many students of the School.
Improving the reading culture for students of the School is of great significance. In the era of rapid technological development, when information is flooded on social networks, the habit of reading books is gradually fading away. Encouraging and improving the reading culture not only helps students broaden their knowledge, improve their life experiences and language skills, but also contributes to building a healthy lifestyle, knowing how to think deeply and be more responsible for themselves and society.
This year’s series of activities to promote reading culture includes 3 main activities: “Book Exhibition: Flying Letters”, “Reading Culture Ambassador” Contest and Talkshow “Journey to be your own Teacher”.
The opening of the series of activities was the book exhibition “Flying Letters” – an inspiring display space for book lovers. The exhibition quickly attracted the attention of many students, lecturers and staff of HUFLIT, creating a meaningful highlight in the journey of spreading knowledge and arousing love for reading culture.
With the theme “Flying Letters”, the book exhibition brings a gentle, cool image in the early summer days for HUFLIT students to immerse themselves in a space filled with knowledge with nearly 200 different books from economics – society, science – technology to books with healing content.
At the exhibition, students also have the opportunity to own their favorite books through a subsidy program of up to 25% from the program’s Organizing Committee, to create conditions for students who are passionate about reading or have the opportunity to access good books at a “soft” cost.
Following the positive response from the book exhibition “Flying Letters”, the Union – Association continues to launch the “Reading Culture Ambassador” contest with the goal of finding students who love reading and are able to spread inspiration and positive values from books to the HUFLIT community. Contestants are invited to introduce a book that has deeply influenced their thinking.
Despite receiving attention from many students, this year’s contest has not yet found the most suitable candidate to honor. However, the journey of spreading reading culture at HUFLIT continues, because each book shared, each story told is a seed that contributes to cultivating knowledge and nurturing the souls of young people.
Closing the series of activities to promote reading culture in 2025, the talk show “Journey to become your own Teacher” brought a new perspective on learning and self-development to HUFLIT students.
With many years of experience in training and coaching large domestic and foreign enterprises, speaker Le Thi Hoang Anh – TWI Trainer, Productivity and Digital Transformation Expert, shared practical knowledge on how to understand yourself and maintain a lifelong learning journey, through a scientific – management approach as a new form of “healing”.
By posing close and practical questions, the speaker skillfully guided the participants to explore how to apply TWI thinking to study, work and life, thereby equipping them with solid luggage for their future careers. Quick practice exercises with the speaker right in the Hall brought many opportunities for students to share and look inside themselves to find what they want.
“The present is the future” is the profound message that the speaker sent, hoping that students will live and strive to cultivate and study in the present, so that the future ahead will be brighter and brighter, or at least, you will not have to regret having lived and worked hard to fulfill your dreams.
The series of activities to promote reading culture in 2025 ended with the expectation of somewhat arousing the love of books and spreading the spirit of continuous learning in the HUFLIT student community. Although daily life may be busy with study schedules, work or daily worries, we hope that each of us will still keep a quiet space for ourselves – to read, to contemplate and to develop ourselves. Because each page of a book is not only knowledge, but also a luggage to help us think more deeply, more creatively and grow sustainably from within.
