Coming from Vo Truong Toan High School (Ho Chi Minh City), Thanh Trung began his university journey with an impressive and proud milestone. Behind this achievement is a story of determination and a young man’s dream to shape the future through technology.
A passion grown from numbers and formulas
Since high school, Thanh Trung has had a special interest in natural sciences such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry—subjects that require logical thinking and precision with numbers. His curiosity in these fields gradually nurtured his passion for Information Technology, a discipline built on algorithms and programming languages.
Winning third prize in the “Chemical Calculations on a Scientific Calculator” contest, Trung believes that science subjects are not too difficult for those who are patient. His secret to success can be summed up in four simple words: “consistent practice and effort.”
“Natural sciences may seem hard, but they’re also full of interesting discoveries. The more I study, the more I enjoy solving problems and exploring new ideas,” he said enthusiastically.
Choosing HUFLIT – The beginning of a new journey
Thanh Trung’s journey with HUFLIT began thanks to the recommendation of a close friend.
“While I was considering which university to apply to, I heard about HUFLIT from a brother who is now a programmer and also a HUFLIT alumnus. He told me that this university offers a dynamic learning environment with high-quality and practical training programs.”
After learning more about the university, Trung decided to choose HUFLIT because it not only trains students to become skillful programmers but also helps them develop strong foreign language abilities—essential qualities for IT professionals who want to meet the demands of both the Vietnamese and international job markets.
In addition to his academic goals, Trung also hopes to immerse himself in HUFLIT’s vibrant student life.
“Studying is my top priority, but I know that to grow completely, I should also join extracurricular activities. HUFLIT will be a great place for me to improve my soft skills and connect with other young people who share the same passion for technology.”
A dream to explore the world of microchips
When talking about his future plans, Trung’s eyes light up with excitement. He passionately describes his fascination with microchip technology, a dream he has cherished for a long time.
“Inside every tiny chip lies the wonder of technology. Thanks to microchips, we have smartphones, computers, and so much more. I want to explore what makes them so amazing,” he said.
Behind his curiosity about microchips is a desire to create technology that benefits the community. Trung is developing an idea for a mobile app that helps elderly people use smartphones more easily.
“I often see my parents struggling with smartphones. That inspired me to create an app that can guide older users to access technology more comfortably.”
From numbers to technology
From a high school student who loved numbers and formulas to HUFLIT’s 2025 admission top scorer, Thanh Trung’s story is a simple yet powerful reminder that: “If you dare to dream and keep trying, you can write your own inspiring story.”
