HUFLIT’s 30 years of strong commitment to education
Since its establishment, HCMC University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (HUFLIT) has continuously strived to uphold and promote the core values set forth by its founders.
The pioneer of “education socialization”
In 1992, with the desire to “build a workforce with foreign language and computer skills to meet opportunities when foreign investors appear in Vietnam”, the outstanding educator Huynh The Cuoc established the Saigon University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, the predecessor of HCMC University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology today.
After years of nurturing, the dream school of Mr. Cuoc finally began to take shape. However, at that time, the school had nothing but… its name.
Lacking infrastructure and limited funding, the challenges were overwhelming, but it couldn’t discourage the retired teacher.
Mr. Huynh The Cuoc was not alone. With the support and solidarity of like-minded friends – the members of HUFLIT Founding Council, HUFLIT gradually grew and flourished on its educational journey.
From the very beginning, HUFLIT’s Founding Council clearly defined that the quality of education is a necessary condition and the benefit of students and teachers is a sufficient condition to help HUFLIT advance on the path of education.
That is the reason why generations of leaders have always strived to improve the organization, focusing all financial resources and achievements accumulated over the years to upgrade the faculty, improve the infrastructure, and enrich the knowledge for the next generations of students. The university also continuously engages in educational exchanges with countries in the region and the West.

Continuing the educational philosophies that the first generation of leaders of HUFLIT worked hard to establish and preserve over the years, with steady progress and accurate direction from the very beginning, after nearly 30 years since its founding, HUFLIT has now grown and developed, becoming one of the pioneering multi-disciplinary universities in training professions that utilize foreign languages and computer science.

Recognizing that morality and knowledge are the solid foundation, throughout its formation and development over nearly 30 years, many generations of HUFLIT lecturers have been diligently and continuously training talented individuals to become high-quality human resources for the country.
The success of many generations of students in various fields is a testament to the quality of education provided by HUFLIT, which has earned a reputation as a prestigious private university in the Southern region.

Good education is one that nurtures good individuals. From the very beginning, HUFLIT has firmly adhered to its mission of educating individuals with a lifelong learning capacity, capable of becoming global citizens who adapt and actively contribute to society. They are individuals who embrace change, have self-development awareness, particularly in foreign languages and computer science through practical experiences. In reality, HUFLIT takes pride in its successive generations of students and learners who continuously strive for higher standards, both in terms of admissions and achievements upon graduation. Human beings – the greatest goal of all education
Good education is one that nurtures individuals with full qualities, consciousness, and dedication, meeting the demands set by society. Clearly defining human beings as the ultimate goal of all education, alongside the educational activities, every member of the university’s leadership always strives to improve by caring for and protecting the rights of students and lecturers, investing in developing human resources and the infrastructure to serve education, creating conditions to maximize the potential of students.
Therefore, over nearly 30 years of building and development, HUFLIT has always been highly regarded by society for its outstanding contributions to the cause of education and training. Acknowledging these remarkable achievements, HUFLIT has been honored with numerous commendations from the Government, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, and the Third-class Labor Medal presented by the President.
Lawyer Vuong Xuan Duc – parent of the excellent graduate Vuong Thanh Nguyen from the Faculty of Law at HUFLIT shared: “In addition to the quality of education, the educational environment is the most important factor. Only with a healthy educational environment can our children study with peace of mind. That’s why I decided to choose HUFLIT for my child”.
HUFLIT’s greatest reward is the comprehensive development of its generations of students
With the core values maintained since its establishment and the commitment to quality education, HUFLIT in its new journey will continue to invest further in all aspects, providing the best experience and benefits for students in the university environment, thereby realizing the aspiration to enhance the value of the national workforce in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular during the integration period.
