Faculty of Economics and Finance
By 2030, the Faculty of Economics and Finance will become a leading institution in training human resources for the fields of finance, banking, accounting, and auditing, with a quality that ranks among the top 20 universities in Vietnam.
I. ACCOUNTING
The Accounting major at HUFLIT focuses on specialized training and emphasizes practical working skills.

The distinctive features in training program:
- The curriculum is regularly updated according to international standards.
- Over 50% of the courses are taught in bilingual English-Vietnamese format.
- Starting from the 2021 academic year, the program has been enhanced with the application of information technology in data analysis and accounting.
Career opportunities:
Upon graduation with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, students can take on the following positions:
- Accountants; Auditors; Financial and credit management specialists; Corporate budget managers; Accounting and tax declaration specialists; Financial forecasting and analysis specialists; Employees in taxation, customs, and state treasury.
- Financial, tax, and investment consultants; Financial product development employees; Insurance advisors; Credit specialists in commercial banks; Valuation specialists; Investment project managers and supervisors; Securities brokers; Researchers at educational institutions and research institutes.
II. ECONOMICS – FINANCE
The motto of training: “Strong in knowledge, proficient in practical skills.”

The distinctive features in training program:
- Regularly updated and adjusted to international standards.
- Specialized subjects are taught in bilingual English-Vietnamese format.
- Starting from the 2021 academic year, the program has been developed to incorporate Financial Technology (FinTech) applications, providing additional career opportunities for students.
Career opportunities:
After graduation, students can take on various positions in the following fields:
- Transaction officer, credit officer, financial service specialist, international payment staff at banks.
- Financial analyst, investment specialist, valuation specialist, securities broker, financial, tax, and investment consultant.
- Investment fund manager, financial product development staff, insurance consultant.
- Financial management and supervision of investment projects.
- Accounting and auditing staff.
- Cryptocurrency asset management.
- Researcher at educational institutions and research institutes.
III. AUDITING (Planned)
The training program is designed with the aim of producing graduates with a solid foundation of economic and social knowledge, deep expertise in auditing, accounting, and internal control, as well as professional ethics and the necessary skills to participate in the labor market.

The distinctive features in training program:
- Flexible training duration, allowing students to complete the program in 3 years or extend it up to a maximum of 6 years.
- A well-designed curriculum combining general knowledge, specialized subjects, and English language skills. Specifically:
- General knowledge subjects and major-specific subjects will be allocated from the first year to the first semester of the second year.
- Specialized subjects will be allocated from the second year to the middle of the third year.
- Basic English language courses will be taught in the first two semesters, while specialized English courses will be offered in the second and third years.
- Integration of the training program with the Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA) right from the regular academic program. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded the certificate of “Basic Practical Auditing”.
Career opportunities
- Assistant Independent Auditor at auditing companies. Career prospects include becoming a Chief Auditor, Senior Auditor, or Senior Audit Analyst.
- Internal Auditor.
- State Auditor. Career prospects include becoming a Chief Auditor or Audit Team Leader.
- Accounting Staff working in enterprises, banks, non-bank financial institutions, state-owned enterprises, economic and social programs/projects.
- Analysts and Consultants: working for companies providing financial and tax consulting services.
- Researchers and Lecturers at educational institutions and research organizations.
