HUFLIT Youth Week of Studying and Following Uncle Ho’s Teachings 2025: Fueling the Flame of Patriotism for HUFLIT Students

Ho Chi Minh – From a legendary man to the sacred name of a city

In order to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025), and at the same time promote propaganda about his life and glorious revolutionary career, honor his great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people, the School Youth Union coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch to organize  the thematic exhibition “Proud of the City named after Him – Ho Chi Minh” , displaying images and documents about Uncle Ho with the cause of liberating the South, unifying the country and outstanding achievements in the process of building and developing the Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of Ho Chi Minh City since the liberation day (April 30, 1975) to the present. The exhibition opening ceremony took place on the morning of May 12, 2025, at Hall B, Su Van Hanh campus with the participation of leaders, teachers, union members and students of the School.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong – Propaganda and Education Department, Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch said: “In the South, young people know a lot about Uncle Ho, but do not have a deep understanding of Uncle Ho’s feelings for the people of the South. Therefore, part of the documents and images of this topic have partly expressed the feelings that Uncle Ho had for the people and cadres of the South during his lifetime . “

Student Do Bui Que Anh – Faculty of International Relations and Communication shared: “The exhibition has helped me understand more about history, vividly recreating history through specific images and data. This has helped me understand more about the indomitable will, patriotism, and what our ancestors have contributed.”

Also at the ceremony, the School Party Committee commended collectives and individuals who had done well in studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style in the period of May 19, 2024 – May 19, 2025 to promptly commend and encourage good models, advanced examples, and outstanding examples with outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style in 2025 and the period of 2016 – 2025. In addition, the School awarded Certificates and gifts to excellent students who won high prizes at the Competition on “Ethical education, lifestyle, crime prevention and social evils” .

Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style – The compass for the actions of today’s young generation

On May 14 and 15, 2025, the School Youth Union successfully organized two thematic reporting sessions on “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s grassroots style” and “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style on preserving and promoting national cultural identity” , attracting the attention and participation of many union members and students of the school.

With the close, profound communication and many practical examples of Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa Xinh – Former Director of Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh branch and Master. Dang Van Khoa – Political Theory Reporter of the Central Youth Union , 02 thematic reports not only help union members and students better understand Uncle Ho’s ideology and lifestyle of being close to the people, for the people, but also arouse patriotism, national pride and responsibility to preserve and promote cultural identity in the young generation.

The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere. This is an opportunity for each of us to review his life and great career, and at the same time honor the outstanding students – typical representatives of the young generation of HUFLIT who are constantly studying, practicing and following Uncle Ho’s teachings with concrete and practical actions.

At the ceremony, according to Decision No. 06/QD-DTN dated May 15, 2025 of the School Youth Union Standing Committee, the School Youth Union commended 15 collectives and 181 individuals who achieved the title of “Advanced Youth following Uncle Ho’s teachings” at all levels, school year 2023 – 2024. Of which, 61 individuals were commended at the Faculty level (28 outstanding individuals in the field of Study – Scientific Research, 33 outstanding individuals in the field of Training) and 120 individuals were commended at the School level (105 outstanding individuals in the field of Study – Scientific Research, 15 outstanding individuals in the field of Training) .

Also on this occasion, the School Youth Union awarded 04 individuals and 01 collective with high achievements in the Competition for designing propaganda products on school regulations – Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology . The competition aims to promote propaganda and widely implement Decision No. 647/QD-ĐNT dated May 20, 2022 on promulgating school regulations – Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology (HUFLIT) among the School’s union members and students, creating a playground, promoting initiative and creativity in making propaganda products, thereby searching for and spreading propaganda products on social networks, associated with educational work and propaganda activities at the School.

The award for the Faculty with the most entries went to the Faculty of Information Technology . In addition, for individuals, 04 excellent students won high prizes, including:

After launching and receiving active and enthusiastic participation from a large number of students, the online contest “Learning about Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought” has officially ended and found 03 excellent students who won high prizes in the contest:

Second Prize – Student Duong Thi Kieu Linh – Faculty of Foreign Languages

Third Prize – Student Vuong Boi San – Faculty of Business Administration

In addition, on the afternoon of May 17, 2025 at the Hall, Ton Duc Thang Museum (District 1) and on the morning of May 19, 2025 at the Hall, City Command (District 10), a Conference was held to summarize the implementation of Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle for the period 2016 – 2025 and 2025.

At the Summary Conference, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology (HUFLIT) was honored and proud to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee for the period 2016 – 2025 and the Certificate of Merit from the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee in 2025 for their outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle.

In particular, the School Youth Union is one of two School Youth Unions honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for their outstanding achievements in studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings in the period of 2016 – 2025. This is the result of the attention and care of the City Youth Union, the School Council, the Party Committee – the School Board; the coordination of units in the School for the cause of education and nurturing the young generation has contributed to creating works, tasks, and activities of studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings of generations of cadres, union members, and youth of HUFLIT over the past 10 years.

The HUFLIT Youth Week of Studying and Following Uncle Ho’s Teachings 2025 has ended but has left many unforgettable impressions. Through the activities of this year’s Week, we hope that HUFLIT members and students will continue to promote the spirit of studying, practicing, and following Uncle Ho’s example through practical actions in studying and living, contributing to building a dynamic and positive school environment and spreading the good values ​​of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style to the community.
