Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (HUFLIT) worked with the Center for Education Accreditation (CEA), VNU-HCM to organise the training course “Institutional-level educational quality assessment” in order to raise awareness among HUFLIT’s managers, lecturers and staff of the requirements and the importance of institutional-level educational quality self-assessment under Circular 12/2017/TT-BGDDT.

Phase 1 of the training course drew nearly 60 participants, including representatives of the Board of Rectors, unit leaders, and specialists in charge of educational quality assurance at the units.

Attending and delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University – on behalf of the University sincerely thanked the experts for supporting the University in training key staff in educational quality assurance, contributing to ensuring and improving training quality, meeting the requirements of self-assessment activities and preparing for the University’s institutional-level quality assessment plan in the coming period. This is a key activity that creates a turning point in development, helping maintain HUFLIT’s strengths, brand and competitiveness. The University’s representative also asked participating staff to take part fully and effectively in the training content, and to strive further to gain more experience when carrying out self-assessment and achieving the set objectives.

Presenting at the course, the teaching team included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Director of the Center for Education Accreditation, VNU-HCM, and Dr. Truong Chi Hien – educational quality accreditation assessor. The class heard an overview of the set of standards for institutional quality accreditation (comprising 25 standards and 111 criteria); the structure of the self-assessment report and related regulations; and the PDCA principle in carrying out activities at the University. In addition, the experts guided and trained participants on how to operate the internal quality assurance system effectively; the preparations needed for external assessment; answers to questions surrounding the Ministry of Education and Training’s set of standards for institutional-level quality assessment; the application of this set of standards in practice; an introduction to reference materials and many other necessary topics.

  • Proud to be HUFLITers #07 | M.A. Tran My Uyen – A lectern where a teacher wishes only to “watch her children grow up”
At the HUFLIT Faculty of Foreign Languages, M.A. Tran My Uyen (Vice Dean) goes by many names. Some call her “Ms My”; her students call her “mother”. Colleagues often compare her to Mother Au Co with a hundred children. Yet to become the “mother” of the lecture hall she is today, she went through a profound shift in thinking that completely changed a teaching philosophy built over more than 30 years.
  • New Cybersecurity Regulations: Opportunities for the Cybersecurity Field in the Digital Era
The new cybersecurity regulations taking effect on 1 July 2026 not only help complete the legal framework but also drive demand for talent in cybersecurity. This is also the moment when the discipline becomes a promising choice for young people who love technology and information security.
  • “GenZ Major Insights 2026” – Episode 9: Boundless Journeys with HUFLIT’s Tourism and Hospitality Programs
Many students choose the Tourism and Hospitality field simply because they love to travel. But passion alone is not enough to pursue this field in the long run. What matters more is understanding the nature of the discipline, its professional requirements, and the qualities needed to grow in a professional service environment.
