On the afternoon of August 1, 2023, HUFLIT had a working session with the delegation of the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, led by Deputy Consul General – Mr. Xu Zhou.
Attending the meeting were the delegation of the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City including Mr. Xu Zhou – Deputy Consul General, Mr. Lu Bing – Chief of Office and interpreter. On HUFLIT side, there were Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – Principal and leaders of the Foreign Affairs Department and the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan was very impressed by China’s remarkable development and expressed his honor that this was the first time a delegation from the Chinese Consulate General visited HUFLIT. In response, the Deputy Consul General shared that since General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to Vietnam last October, there have been bustling exchanges and travel between the two countries, and cooperation has been constantly promoted, especially in education. After working in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Xu Zhou deeply felt that Vietnamese students are very interested in Chinese culture. Strengthening cultural exchanges among the younger generation will enhance the spirit of mutual love.
To gradually promote this relationship, the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City has offered to sponsor a multi-functional classroom for HUFLIT (worth 500 million VND) and sponsor Consulate General scholarships for excellent students with good morals and difficult circumstances.
On HUFLIT’s side, Principal Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan welcomed the promotion of student exchange programs and cultural experiences of other countries for HUFLIT students, and wished to further strengthen cooperation with the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City in the near future.
The strengthening of the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two sides will open up more opportunities not only for HUFLIT students in terms of study conditions, scholarships, internship and employment opportunities, but also for lecturers and staff to have the opportunity to improve their qualifications and teaching expertise.
