The Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City Donates 90 Million VND to the HUFLIT Scholarship Fund for Talented and Hardworking Students
Last week, the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized a series of meaningful activities, including the inauguration ceremony of the Chinese Language Club, the welcome ceremony for the Deputy Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City to present scholarships to 45 students majoring in Chinese Language at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City, and a special seminar titled “HSK Exam: Easy or Difficult?”. The events attracted over 500 students.
Attending the ceremony, representatives from the Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City included Mr. Xu Zhou, Deputy Consul General; Mr. Zhang Ziyu, Consular Attaché; and Mrs. Du Thi Thanh Tra, Consulate staff.
From HUFLIT, attendees included Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, the Rector of the University; Ms. Dinh Hong Van, Head of the Political Affairs and Student Affairs Office; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thieu, Head of the External Affairs Office; Ms. Dang Thi Hue Tran, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; Dr. Pham Thi Duyen Hong, Head of the Chinese Language Practice Department; Dr. Chau Ngoc Huy, Head of the Chinese Major Department; as well as faculty members and more than 400 students from the Chinese Language program.


The Chinese Language Club was officially launched with the goal of providing a platform for students who share an interest in Chinese culture, history, and language through activities such as learning Chinese, organizing cultural events, and interacting with the Chinese language learning community. The club aims to enrich students’ academic and cultural experiences at HUFLIT. During the ceremony, Ms. Dang Thi Hue Tran, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, presented the establishment decision to the Chinese Language Club.


Earlier this academic year, the Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City donated 45 scholarships, totaling 90 million VND, to the scholarship fund for Chinese Language students. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Party Secretary and Rector of the University, expressed deep gratitude for the valuable support from the Consulate General, which made the scholarship presentation event possible. This marks a significant milestone in the cooperation and friendship between HUFLIT and international partners

Additionally, Mr. Xu Zhou, Deputy Consul General, shared his thoughts on the importance of learning Chinese and encouraged students in the Chinese Language program to continue their academic journey. He expressed: “The Consulate General of China is always ready to support the Chinese Language program at the University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City, in training more talented individuals, contributing to the Vietnam-China friendship. I hope that the students will study diligently and become ambassadors of the China-Vietnam friendship, contributing to the revitalization of the Asia-Pacific region and pioneering the progress of humanity in the future”.


At the event, the organizing committee invited Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Dean of the Chinese Language Department at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, member of the Executive Committee of the World Chinese Language Teaching Association, Vice Chair of the Chinese Language Teaching and Research Association in Vietnam, and Head of the HSK exam center in Ho Chi Minh City, as the speaker for the seminar titled “HSK Exam: Difficult or Easy?”. Given the changes in the HSK exam structure, the speaker shared resources for HSK preparation, information on exam registration locations, as well as tips and effective study methods.



With the practical benefits of this program, we hope students will successfully complete their studies at HUFLIT and seize more opportunities for future achievements.
