When young people are not afraid to talk about gender and sexuality

“Sex and Students”  is an annual activity organized by the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​Youth Union to provide students with the correct knowledge and perspective on psychological development, sexuality, emotional life and gender. This activity gives students the opportunity to access knowledge surrounding reproductive health and sexuality, strengthen their views on sensitive and difficult-to-share issues in life; at the same time, encourage students to develop critical thinking, argumentation as well as teamwork skills.

The 2025 “Sex And Students” competition consists of 02 rounds: Search Round and Shine Round. The Search Round selects the 06 best teams to enter the Shine Round and in this round, the teams prepare, make and present a video clip that shows their team’s color and clearly states the message on the topic of “Gender Equality”.

Shining Night was honored to welcome the presence of the Jury who are experts in the fields of health education, gender, psychology, etc.: Ms. Tieu Thao Ngan – Master of Psychology; Mr. Tran Le Viet Thanh – Medical Director at Glink Clinic System nationwide and Dr. Le Van Cong – Psychiatrist, Ho Chi Minh City Mental Hospital. With solid expertise and rich experience, the Jury gave fair assessments along with valuable sharing about gender and health for students.

Meaningful messages are spread through each competition.

Coming to the Shining Round of the competition, the teams will continue to compete through 3 rounds of Dramatization , Knowledge and Wisdom . For the Dramatization round , the teams will convey messages about gender equality through the form of performing skits. The teams have been excellent in conveying messages and content about the theme of the competition. Thereby, receiving support, sympathy and “touching” the hearts of the audience and the judges of the program.

Finally, in the  Wisdom round , the teams took turns answering open questions from one of the three judges of the program to present their views, thinking and critical thinking ability.

Through a rigorous and fair judging process, the jury selected the winning teams, with the victory going to Aquanix, while the second and third prizes went to Summer Waves and Reach The Goal, respectively. Three teams, Beyond Gender, 5S On The Mic and We Leave Nobody, also finished with the Encouragement Prizes of the competition.

After nearly a month, the 2025 “Sex And Students” contest has received a lot of attention and created a certain coverage in the HUFLIT student community. “Sex And Students” 2025 ended with many emotions and valuable knowledge.

Through the contest, students have the opportunity to access knowledge about proper sex education, self-protection, strengthen their views on sensitive and difficult-to-share issues in life, and especially with the theme of the year: Gender Equality. “Sex And Students” is also a playground for HUFLITers to unleash their creativity, express their bravery, convey positive values, and assert themselves on the path to maturity at HUFLIT
