Return to Roots Journey 2026: Reliving the Golden Pages of History in the Land of Steel
Awakening national pride
The trip brought students to 02 renowned “red addresses”: the Đồng Khởi Special National Relic and the Saigon – Gia Định Regional Party Committee Base Relic. This is not only an extracurricular tour but also an opportunity for the HUFLIT young generation to directly touch history, thoroughly understand the hardships and silent sacrifices of their forefathers.
Reflecting at the “Cradle” of the Đồng Khởi movement
In Bến Tre, the delegation offered incense and spent minutes of silence in memory of the Heroic Martyrs, listening to the stories about the long-haired army, about the spirit of “heroic Đồng Khởi, defeating the Americans and destroying the puppet regime”; every student could not help but be moved. The artifacts and images at the museum seemed to recreate a time of fire and smoke, where bombs and bullets bowed in surrender before the iron will.
Real-world experience at the Saigon – Gia Định Regional Party Committee Base (Y4)
Continuing the journey, the delegation moved to the Saigon – Gia Định Regional Party Committee Base (Y4). Here, the students had an unforgettable experience when directly walking under the narrow trenches, visiting the camps of the leading comrades during the resistance-war period. The contrast between the deprivation and harshness of the old combat conditions and the current peaceful life left profound lessons about gratitude.
HUFLIT youthful strength: Learning from the past, aiming at the future
Besides the tour activities, the trip was also a warm exchange space among students of different courses. The revolutionary songs ringing out amid the green forest, the collective games binding team affection made up a journey full of laughter but no less solemn.
“Return to Roots Journey 2026” closes, but the journey of the flame of enthusiasm and patriotism will continue to be lit in the heart of every HUFLIT student. Bidding farewell to the land of coconut rows and steadfast loyalty, the students return to the lecture hall, carrying the determination to continue writing new pages of history full of pride for the HUFLIT youth.
