The Faculty of Foreign Languages at HUFLIT “Ignites” the Teaching Profession for Major StudentsRecently, the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized the first professional skills seminar for students in the 2025–2026 academic year under the theme “From the Classroom to the Teaching Podium.” The program was not only a career-sharing session but also opened a profound narrative about the educational journey—exploring choices, commitment, and sustaining passion for the teaching profession in the context of modern education.
Professor Phan Van Truong and the sharing session at the Talkshow “A Lifetime in Management – A Lifetime in Negotiation”
With the aim of sharing negotiation and communication methods in international and business environments, and helping students develop essential skills in the context of international integration, the Mai Tu Quy Group – students from the Faculty of International Relations organized the Talkshow “Một đời quản trị – Một đời thương thuyết” (A Lifetime in Management – A Lifetime in Negotiation) with the participation of over 400 HUFLIT students.
In the context of international integration, where mass media has a significant impact on people’s perspectives and communication styles, learning negotiation and communication techniques among diverse cultures, nationalities, and social positions becomes crucial and essential. Additionally, the rapid development of science and technology and continuous innovation in modern life require the enhancement of management skills in relationships and resources in work and life.
The talkshow “A Lifetime in Management – A Lifetime in Negotiation” organized by the Mai Tu Quy Group, students from the Faculty of International Relations, revolved around the skills and knowledge in negotiation in international and business environments, as well as methods of managing relationships and resources. The speakers shared their knowledge, experiences, and life lessons, providing profound insights into negotiation and communication, as well as sharing valuable experiences and skills with the students. Through the talkshow, students gained a better understanding of the crucial skills and requirements in negotiation.

Accompanying with the students at the talkshow, as a special guest speaker, is Professor Phan Van Truong. He is the Former President of Alsthom Group Asia, Former Vice President of Alsthom Power and Alsthom Transports, and Former President of Suez – North America, currently serving as the French Government’s Advisor on International Trade, a professor in Urban Economics and Regional Planning at the University of Paris 1 – Pantheon Sorbonne, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, and Ho Chi Minh City National University. Professor Phan Van Truong has held several high-level leadership positions at Alstom with 100,000 employees in the 80s-90s and Suez with 200,000 employees in the 90s. He has signed projects totaling over 60 billion dollars in the fields of power and electric trains. Among them are two world-renowned projects: Combined Cycle Epon (9 units of 1000MW) and the “Seoul-Busan High-Speed Railway” (South Korea). Furthermore, Professor Phan Van Truong has met many world leaders and was awarded the Legion of Honour by the President of France in 2007.
