Official survey for external evaluation of the quality of training programs in 03 majors: Accounting, International Business, and Economic Law at HUFLIT
On the afternoon of March 24, 2023, HCMC University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (HUFLIT) in collaboration with the Center for Educational Accreditation – Ho Chi Minh City National University (CEA-VNUHCM) held the official survey for external evaluation of the quality of training programs in the Accounting, International Business, and Economic Law fields.
Attending the opening ceremony, the delegation for external evaluation consists of Assoc. Prof./Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu – Head of the delegation, and the team members including Dr. Huynh Kha Tu – Delegation Secretary, Assoc. Prof./Dr. Le Chi Lan, Assoc. Prof./Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh, MSc. Lam Tuong Thoai, MSc. Hoang Tho Phu, MSc. Vu Duy Cuong.
Representing the CEA-VNUHCM, there is Assoc. Prof./Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Director of the Center – overseeing the delegation.
From HUFLIT, there is Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – Secretary of the Party Committee, HUFLIT President, along with the members of the Presidential Board, Heads/Directors, Deputy Heads/Deputy Directors, specialists from various units, lecturers, and students of the three faculties with accredited training programs participating in the evaluation.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof./Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu highly praised HUFLIT’s preparation for the official external evaluation to serve the quality assessment of the training programs of the three majors. He committed to conducting the evaluation process in accordance with the regulations and procedures set by the Ministry of Education and Training, ensuring fairness, integrity, and objectivity. According to the plan, the official evaluation will take place from April 24th, 2023 to April 27th, 2023.

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – HUFLIT President – warmly welcomed the delegation from the CEA and pledged to provide maximum conditions for the delegation to fulfill its duties. He also requested close coordination between the faculties, departments, and relevant units to support the delegation in successfully completing the official evaluation of the 03 majors’ training program quality at HUFLIT.
Following that, the delegation held meetings with the heads of faculties, the Academic Councils, and the Self-Assessment Councils of the 03 faculties to learn about the purpose and scope of the official evaluation to serve the external assessment. They were briefed on the management units of the training programs, the process and results of self-assessment, and exchanged information on issues that the delegation needed further clarification on.
In the subsequent days, the delegation reviewed documentary evidence, documents, conducted visits, interviews, and discussions in various departments. They observed activities in libraries, classrooms, laboratories, and practical rooms. Additionally, they observed both in-class and extracurricular activities and conducted interviews with administrators, lecturers, support staff, students, alumni, and employers.

After more than 3 days of urgent, serious, responsible, and effective work, on the afternoon of April 27, 2023, HUFLIT, along with the External Evaluation Team from the CEA-VNUHCM, held the closing session of the official evaluation of the quality of three undergraduate training programs at HUFLIT. The evaluated programs were Accounting, International Business, and Economic Law, assessed according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The closing session was attended by the members of the External Evaluation Delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu. Representing the CEA-VNUHCM, there was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, the Director of CEA-VNUHCM, who supervised the External Evaluation Team. From HUFLIT, there were TS. Nguyen Anh Tuan, the Secretary of the Party Committee, and Rector, along with members of the University’s Executive Board, leaders, officers, and lecturers from the Faculties of Law, Finance and Banking, Business Administration, and representatives from various departments within the University, as well as students.

The representatives of the External Evaluation Delegation presented a preliminary report on the results of the official evaluation of the three undergraduate training programs at the University. The report provided an overview of the process, the implemented activities, and presented specific strengths and limitations. It also offered recommendations for the University to plan and improve the quality of education in the future, better meeting the needs of learners and further affirming the quality and reputation of HUFLIT.

In his speech at the closing ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, HUFLIT President, expressed his gratitude to the External Evaluation Delegation for their professional, fair, objective, and responsible work in helping the University complete the evaluation of the three training programs. HUFLIT acknowledged all the comments and recommendations made by the External Evaluation Delegation, and as a result, HUFLIT, especially the faculties with evaluated programs, gained a clearer understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, and appropriate improvement plans.

Also at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, the Director of the CEA-VNUHCM, who supervised the External Evaluation Delegation, recognized the efforts, seriousness, and collaboration of the three faculties and all relevant parties during the entire evaluation process. She also thanked the units and individuals involved for their dedicated preparation and active support for this official evaluation.
As a result, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam hopes that in the future, the faculties will continue to improve their self-assessment reports and work together with the External Evaluation Delegation to complete the external evaluation report, which plays a crucial role in determining the success of this official evaluation.
At the end of the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, and Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan signed the minutes of the completion of the official evaluation of the quality of the three training programs.
