The Faculty of Foreign Languages at HUFLIT “Ignites” the Teaching Profession for Major StudentsRecently, the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized the first professional skills seminar for students in the 2025–2026 academic year under the theme “From the Classroom to the Teaching Podium.” The program was not only a career-sharing session but also opened a profound narrative about the educational journey—exploring choices, commitment, and sustaining passion for the teaching profession in the context of modern education.
Interesting time management “tricks” for HUFLIT-ers at the Workshop “Time Management Skills – THE TIME ZONE”
The program, organized by the Faculty of Foreign Languages, aims to equip students with planning skills and personal timetable building, and also provide methods to optimize the use of time in daily life.
The program’s keynote speaker, MSc. Nguyen Quang Huy – Lecturer of HUFLIT Faculty of Foreign Languages, shared valuable information from his own impressive learning journey. With excellent achievements, including graduating with a Master’s degree with honors (GPA 3.69) from Edith Cowan University (Australia) and achieving an IELTS Overall score of 8.0, with Speaking and Listening scores of 8.5, MSc. Nguyen Quang Huy imparted effective time management methods. These tips not only help students optimize their time but also achieve outstanding results in their studies and life, while maintaining a balance between personal and professional goals.
According to the speaker, before giving methods to balance time in student life, we must first understand the activities that are wasting time in order to eliminate dead time. Specifically, the first method is the Eisenhower Matrix method – to classify work based on Urgency and Importance. Identify priority work to make the best use of it and not miss the deadline. In addition, the speaker also shared other time management and concentration methods such as: Pomodoro Method – Tomato Technique; 2-Minute Method – Quick Processing Rule; 80/20 Method (Pareto) – Focus on important things.
In addition, the speaker also shared with students about Multitasking Skills. When doing many things at the same time, the brain cannot fully focus on many complex tasks at the same time and is only used when combined with basic tasks or automated tasks. From there, the speaker also gave some other methods such as: Time Blocking, Eliminate distractions or take advantage of AI.
After listening to the useful sharing of the speakers at the seminar, HUFLIT members and students had the opportunity to ask questions directly in the hall. Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy enthusiastically answered questions as well as shared his experiences during his time studying for a Master’s degree.
The seminar provided HUFLIT members and students with a lot of useful information about time management skills in studying and life. Through the seminar, we hope that HUFLIT members and students will be able to effectively apply the useful knowledge acquired from the speakers’ sharing and master time in life.
