1. GENERAL INTRODUCTION

The Korean Language Studies program at HUFLIT equips students with both proficient Korean language skills and professional expertise, preparing them for careers in translation and interpretation, education, tourism, media, and corporate communication.

With a practical, industry-aligned curriculum, a dynamic learning environment, and strong partnerships with Korean enterprises, HUFLIT ensures students not only master the language but also gain the competence and confidence to shape their own professional futures.

2. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Modern, practice-oriented curriculum
Students complete 135 credits over 3.5 years, progressing from foundational to advanced Korean. The program integrates professional skills in translation, teaching, communication, and business operations, with three specialized tracks:

  • Korean Language Teaching

  • Office Administration

  • Culture and Tourism

Learning through real-world experience
Students combine classroom learning with internships, field trips, exchange semesters, and graduation projects or theses.

Second foreign language and technological competence
In addition to Korean, students may choose a second foreign language (English, Japanese, or Chinese), develop digital literacy, and are required to obtain MOS certification and TOPIK II (Level 4) before graduation.

3. SKILLS ACQUIRED AFTER GRADUATION

✔ Proficient in all four Korean language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing
✔ Apply Korean effectively in administrative, educational, and service contexts
✔ Demonstrate professional translation and interpretation skills

4. TEACHING METHODS

The program follows a learner-centered approach, combining direct instruction with experiential learning.

5. CURRICULUM STRUCTURE

The Korean Language Studies program, under the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Cultures, is designed with a student-centered philosophy, addressing the growing demand for skilled Korean-speaking professionals.

Beyond language mastery, the program provides students with fundamental knowledge of Korean society, culture, and regional studies.
Students can specialize in one of three professional orientations:

  • Korean Language Teaching
