“GenZ Major Insights 2026” – Episode 9: Boundless Journeys with HUFLIT’s Tourism and Hospitality ProgramsMany students choose the Tourism and Hospitality field simply because they love to travel. But passion alone is not enough to pursue this field in the long run. What matters more is understanding the nature of the discipline, its professional requirements, and the qualities needed to grow in a professional service environment.
The Mettle of Students in the Digital Age Affirmed at HUFLIT Youth Month 2026
HUFLIT Youth Month 2026 took place in a lively emulation atmosphere, deployed synchronously from the University level to the Faculty Youth Unions and Youth Union cells with more creative activities closer to students, creating a space where every young person can participate, experience and shine in their own way.
One of the outstanding points of this year’s Youth Month is the shift in the approach to students, especially through the application of technology and artificial intelligence.
Innovating the approach: Technology and AI “refresh” propaganda work
Typically, at the Festival “Ho Chi Minh City pupils and students place their trust, send their expectations” taking place on 08/3/2026, the University Youth Union deployed a modern propaganda space with products such as a digital exhibition, new-generation media videos and especially an AI Assistant – the election “expert”. This is a new approach that helps political content become more visual and easier to receive.
Besides, online activities also recorded clear efficiency. The online contest to learn about the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026 – 2031 term attracted more than 1,600 students to participate, while the communication campaign “Proud to exercise the citizen’s right – The mission of every student” reached more than 16,000 accesses. The propaganda articles about the election also reached nearly 90,000 views, showing the strong spreading power of this new way of doing things.
The thematic activity sessions were also organised in interesting forms, helping union members and students have the opportunity to study and live together, become more attached and increase their interest in Youth Union work through the activity sessions.
Traditional values continue to be cultivated
In parallel with innovation, HUFLIT Youth Month 2026 still focuses on traditional education. Typical is the “Return to Roots Journey” at the Saigon – Gia Định Regional Party Committee Base Relic and the Đồng Khởi Special National Relic, together with the programme of visiting museums and red addresses, attracting about 500 union members and students to participate. These trips not only help students understand history better but also create a deep emotional connection with traditional values.
Besides the experiential activities, the completion of the upgrade of the “Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space” project also became a meaningful highlight, contributing to creating a learning and living environment rich in ideological and cultural value for students. This space is not only a place to learn about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh but also a point of connection, spreading good values in the life of HUFLIT students.
Along with that, the contests to learn about the Youth Law and the history of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union also attracted nearly 4,000 turns of union members and students to participate, contributing to consolidating political awareness and a spirit of civic responsibility.
In particular, the series of activities “Commemorating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (26/3/1931 – 26/3/2026)” and “30 years of the founding of the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (1996 – 2026)” left many deep marks.
Not only an occasion to review the development journey and connect the generations of Youth Union – Association officials, the programme also commended 58 excellent Youth Union – Association officials and carried out the ceremony of handing over the list of 30 outstanding union members for the Party to consider admitting, affirming the role of the Youth Union organisation in the work of discovering and cultivating the successor force.
In addition, the contest Wishing the Youth Union forever “Green” was also deployed to the Faculty Youth Unions – Associations to celebrate the Commemoration of “the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (26/3/1931 – 26/3/2026)” and “30 years of the founding of the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (1996 – 2026)”.Not only creative, the contest parts also contributed to spreading the spirit of pride, connecting union members and students towards the important historical milestones of the Youth Union organisation and the University.
Besides, the work of ideal education and cultivating the successor force is also always focused on. In the 2025 – 2026 academic year, Youth Union sympathiser classes continued to be organised, creating conditions for students to learn about the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union organisation, thereby enhancing political awareness, a spirit of responsibility and a sense of contribution to the community.
Digital transformation: Equipping essential capacity for students
Not only stopping at propaganda, digital transformation is also brought into the skills-training content for students.
The University Youth Union organised a series of themes such as “Prompt Engineering skills: Communicating effectively with AI” and “Applying AI in study, research and career development”, attracting about 200 students to participate. The content was designed in a practice-oriented way, helping students be able to apply it right into reality.
The volunteer spirit spreads through practical actions
The pioneering spirit for the community continues to be a highlight running throughout Youth Month. HUFLIT union members and students directly participated in the activity “Clearing the flow of Tám Cao Canal” tied to the project “Saigon River – The river of my City” on the launch day of Youth Month 2026. Not only contributing to improving the living environment, the activity also clearly demonstrated the spirit of responsibility and the proactiveness of the youth in joining hands to build a green – clean – beautiful city.
Following that, environmental-protection activities were also organised diversely with many creative forms such as the poster-design contest with the theme “Green living”, “For a green Vietnam” or the challenge “A green-living day”, attracting more than 26,000 accesses, contributing to spreading green-living awareness in the student community.
In parallel, the voluntary blood-donation programme also received a strong response with more than 1,100 participants, receiving over 1,250 units of blood, thereby continuing to affirm the compassion and social responsibility of HUFLIT staff – lecturers and students.
Besides, the University Youth Union also organised the Journey “Supporting high-school pupils into University” tied to carrying out the youth project “HUFLIT Language Ambassador – Spreading knowledge, connecting the future” at Bình Thạnh High School (Tây Ninh province) with the theme “Firm psychology, solid exam scores – The key to opening the University door” and a Language exchange, culture exploration space (English, Chinese), helping the pupils gain more useful information before stepping into the University door.
Comprehensive development: From skills to a talent playground
HUFLIT Youth Month 2026 is also an occasion for students to develop comprehensively in both skills and talent.
A series of skills-equipping activities such as personal financial management, conflict resolution, creative thinking or media-crisis handling that were organised attracted more than 2,500 turns of union members and students to participate, contributing to forming a proactive mindset and a professional manner.
Besides, playgrounds such as the “HUFLIT Talent Arena” Competition (Confrontation Round) created an opportunity for students to express themselves in the art field. In particular, the HUFLIT performance team won the Third Prize at the Dance of Youth – Youth Fest 2026 Festival, affirming the mark of the University’s students on the big playgrounds.
In addition, the University Youth Union also cared about equipping the necessary knowledge and information to help the University’s students stay away from the dangers lurking at all times with the thematic report “Propaganda on the prevention and combat of Social Evils and providing current information on the security and social order situation in the city area” at the 02 campuses Sư Vạn Hạnh and Hóc Môn.
At the same time, coordinating with the Political Affairs – Student Affairs Office to organise the Dialogue between the University leadership and students to listen to feelings and answer questions promptly for the students.
HUFLIT Youth Month 2026 not only left lively activities but also marked a clear transformation in the way HUFLIT youth learn, act and connect.
It is hoped that the cultivated values will continue to spread, becoming the motivation for HUFLIT youth to firmly move forward on the journey ahead – more mettlesome, more proactive and ready to adapt to new opportunities.
