On the eve of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations, Japanese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Watanabe Nobuhiro, visited and presented more than 70 books at the University of Foreign Languages ​​- Information Technology in Ho Chi Minh City.

On the morning of November 25, Mr. Watanabe Nobuhiro – Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Shiraishi Hideyuki – Consul of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City visited the University of Foreign Languages ​​- Information Technology in Ho Chi Minh City. At the meeting, the Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City – Mr. Watanabe Nobuhiro sent his best wishes to all the staff and lecturers working at the University of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Mr. Watanabe Nobuhiro, education is one of the important fields that plays a role in connecting the relationship between the two countries, promoting the strong development of the Vietnam – Japan friendship. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges, significantly affecting educational institutions in Vietnam, Japan still highly appreciates the training quality and the ability to adapt to the social situation of universities, especially Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​- Information Technology, as well as the capacity and competitiveness of HUFLIT students, because they are the ones who play an important role in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
Also at the meeting, Mr. Watanabe Nobuhiro donated more than 70 books about Japan to the library of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​- Information Technology.

“It is known that HUFLIT library currently has more than 1,800 books and documents about Japan, most of which are written in Japanese. This is a valuable and important resource for students to have a closer and deeper access to Japanese culture. However, to expand the audience, today I bring more than 70 books, all of which are written in English. I hope these books will be useful for learning about Japan, not only for Japanese language students but also for students of other faculties. I really hope these books will be an opportunity as well as a source of inspiration for all students to understand more deeply about Japan.”
