HUFLITers continue writing the epic with the hearts of the young generation
HUFLIT youth recreated the golden pages of the nation’s history by singing and immersing themselves in elaborate dances, which were choreographed with deep love for their homeland, pride combined with the unique “quality” of the new generation of students – bravery, creativity and constant innovation.

50 years since the country was reunited, revolutionary songs still retain their vitality. They are the voice of a time of war and war, of people who lived, fought and sacrificed for national independence, the melodies become immortal and are an undying flame, passed down through generations and continue to burn brightly in the hearts of young people today. At the stage of “50 years of proud heroic epic”, HUFLITers from Faculties and music clubs are like historical storytellers using the language of art.
50 years of proud epic – Music continues with the flow of history
The propaganda contest on revolutionary songs “50 years of proud heroic epic” is not only an opportunity for the young generation of HUFLIT to review the heroic history of the nation in the struggle for independence and protection of sovereignty, but also an occasion to pay tribute to the great contributions of national heroes, honor the leadership role of the Party and State in the cause of building and developing the country.
The competition consists of 03 rounds: Preliminary Round, Semi-final Round and Performance Round. The teams will draw lots to choose 01 of 04 themes given by the Organizing Committee and build a comprehensive art program with a maximum duration of 30 minutes. The program must ensure diversity in performance genres, including: solo, duet/trio/quartet, choir and independent dance. Each theme is a slice of time, representing each step of the country’s transformation through typical historical periods, specifically including:
Chapter 1 – “The Fiery Years” (1930 – 1975): A journey full of sacrifices but extremely glorious – from the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam, guiding the revolution, to the two great resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, ending with the Great Victory in the Spring of 1975, the country was unified, the mountains and rivers were reunited.

Chapter 2 – “The Epic of Independence” (1975 – 1995): The period when our nation had just risen up after the war and had steadfastly overcome many difficulties and hardships. Those were difficult but heroic years, when the whole country joined hands to “produce and fight”, steadfastly defend the fruits of the revolution and begin the renovation process under the leadership of the Party.

Chapter 3 – “Moving Forward” (1995 – 2024): A period that demonstrates a resilient Vietnam in war, steadfast in peace, and full of aspirations in the new era – where youth are the faith, the hope, and the future of the country.

Chapter 4: “The Era of Rising” (2024 – present): This era is no longer a journey to find identity – but a journey to affirm one’s mettle, master the future and preserve the sacred values of the nation in a world that is constantly changing.

A musical journey connecting generations – Preserving identity, fueling tradition
After more than a month of serious practice, with the dedicated support of Program Advisor – Director, Choreographer Nguyen Bao, the artistic aspirations of the competing teams have gradually been realized. In the Preliminary Round, the performances not only need to be meticulous but also “explode” both visually and aurally to conquer the Semi-Final Jury, the first step to enter the Performance Round.
At the Semi-final Round, 05 teams officially performed their art programs in front of strict judges including Mr. Chung Quoc Phong – Head of HUFLIT Admissions Department; Singer Duyen Quynh – Champion of Love Storyteller 2019, Champion of Shining Stars 2022, Program Ambassador; Singer Doan Dai Hoa – Vocal Lecturer of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, Champion of Powerful Band; Singer MiHa – Champion of Stars to Find Stars 2020, Champion of the Program “Together to Shine” 2024 and Director – Choreographer Nguyen Bao – Program Consultant, who has accompanied and witnessed the growth of the teams.

Under time pressure, the teams and contestants are still constantly striving to perfect every detail – from lyrics, choreography to messages to deliver a polished performance at the Public Performance Round.
The Performance Round is the journey to continue writing the epic with the hearts and passion of HUFLIT students. The audience at the competition night seemed to be led into a stream of deep emotions, completely immersed in historical stories told through music, where love for the homeland and national pride were fully and emotionally conveyed.
In particular, the Performance Round of the Revolutionary Songs Propaganda Competition “50 Years of Pride of the Epic” was held on a meaningful historical milestone – June 5. On this day 114 years ago, at Nha Rong Wharf (Saigon), the patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh boarded the ship Admiral Latouche-Tréville, carrying in his heart a burning desire for an independent and free country, and began his journey to find a way to save the country. That journey opened a new page in history for the Vietnamese people, leading the revolutionary path to glorious victory. This is not only a deep gratitude to the beloved leader, but also an opportunity for today’s generation to remember the sacrifices, aspirations and noble ideals that have forged the spirit and soul of the nation.

The pinnacle of glory is not the end of the 50-year journey of proud epic
Each performance is an epic, where music connects the past with the present, where students transform into soldiers, citizens, and cultural warriors following the ideals of the Fatherland. From the preliminary round to the opening night, the teams have broken through with the spirit of constantly striving, competing with all their hearts and aspirations to express the identity of HUFLIT students. And those efforts have been honored, but that is only the beginning, where the revolutionary fire begins to burn strongly.
