The Faculty of Foreign Languages at HUFLIT “Ignites” the Teaching Profession for Major StudentsRecently, the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized the first professional skills seminar for students in the 2025–2026 academic year under the theme “From the Classroom to the Teaching Podium.” The program was not only a career-sharing session but also opened a profound narrative about the educational journey—exploring choices, commitment, and sustaining passion for the teaching profession in the context of modern education.
HUFLITers learn to balance their emotions and adapt to life.
Maintaining mental stability and adaptability for students and young people is not only an essential skill but also a foundation for sustainable personal growth and for building a happier, healthier life.
Understanding this, the Eastern Languages and Cultures Faculty Union – HUFLIT organized the skills workshop “Touching Balance” to provide students with practical knowledge and fresh perspectives on mental health. The workshop aimed to help students better recognize pressures coming from both external environments and their inner selves, while equipping them with the ability to self-regulate and live more proactively and positively.
“Mental health” is more than just a trend
The workshop created a space for exchange and sharing between students and psychological experts, focusing on mental pressures, emotional regulation, and self-mastery amid the demands of study, work, and social relationships. Going beyond theory, the program was highly practical, offering relatable and actionable insights from the speakers – helping students identify their personal limits and adjust their behaviors, thoughts, and emotions in a more positive direction.
The speaker of the program was Master of Psychology Võ Minh Thành, currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, and an expert in sex education, life skills, and psychological counseling at several major universities. With extensive expertise and a compassionate, approachable style, he guided students to “connect” with their inner selves, offering clearer perspectives on the invisible daily pressures they face, and helping them learn how to self-regulate their pace of life and cultivate a healthier mindset.
The Journey Toward Mental Stability
A special highlight of the program was the segment “Touch: Balancing Together”, where emotions were fully expressed and genuinely heard. Here, HUFLIT students bravely shared their real-life stories – from academic pressures and future planning to challenges in personal relationships. This truly healing space not only allowed them to release emotional burdens but also offered empathy and gentle, professional guidance from the speaker.
The skills workshop “Touching Balance” was not just a knowledge-sharing session but also a vital mental pause for students. The program raised awareness of the pressures present in daily life, helping students better understand their personal limits and learn how to listen to and regulate their emotions.
Through this, students were equipped with the skills to proactively adapt to change and maintain a balanced pace of life between study, work, and personal relationships. This serves as an important stepping stone for young people to grow with a proactive, clear-minded attitude and a deep understanding of themselves, enabling them to confidently face and overcome any challenges life may bring.
