Recently, the specialized report titled “Career Orientation – Gen Z and Accounting–Finance: From the Classroom to Employment,” organized by the Faculty of Economics and Finance, attracted strong interest and participation from a large number of HUFLIT students across various academic disciplines.

The program was designed to help students gain a clearer understanding of career opportunities and development pathways in the economic sector—particularly accounting, finance, and auditing—especially for those pursuing international professional certifications such as ACCA. Through this approach, the program aimed to narrow the gap between academic knowledge acquired in the classroom and the practical demands of the labor market.

At the opening of the session, Ph.D. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan, representing the Organizing Committee, delivered sincere words of appreciation to the two guest speakers and presented them with flowers and commemorative gifts as a gesture of gratitude. This acknowledgment recognized their valuable professional insights and their commitment to accompanying the program, contributing practical perspectives and inspiration for students in shaping career orientation and employment pathways in the accounting and finance fields.

Practical Insights from an Experienced Finance and Auditing Expert

At the specialized report, students had the opportunity to listen to in-depth sharing from Mr. Ha Nhat Tuan—an ACCA member and a finance expert with over 12 years of experience in financial analysis, investment project appraisal, internal control, and independent auditing. He is currently in charge of the Education and Training division at ACCA Vietnam.

Throughout his career, Mr. Ha Nhat Tuan has worked with and participated in numerous major projects at leading enterprises and organizations such as Golden Gate Group, Saigon Co.op, FE Credit, and Grant Thornton. His experience includes corporate auditing, in-depth due diligence for M&A transactions, and investment project evaluation and appraisal.

Through practical examples, Mr. Tuan helped students gain a clearer understanding of the role of Accounting and Finance in modern enterprises, as well as the importance of building a solid professional foundation and a strong career mindset from the early stages of their academic journey.

Continuing the program, Ms. Le Thi Mong Kha—an ACCA member and an Accounting and Finance expert with over 10 years of experience, currently serving as FP&A Team Lead at a U.S.-based e-commerce company—shared relatable and inspiring insights with students.

In addition to her managerial role, Ms. Kha is also a lecturer at one of Vietnam’s leading Accounting and Finance certification training centers and was recognized as ACCA Vietnam Top Performer in 2022 for achieving the highest exam score nationwide.

Drawing from her own professional experience, Ms. Kha shared effective study strategies and a clear learning pathway, offering practical guidance on mastering foundational ACCA subjects—particularly F2 and F3—while providing valuable advice to help students balance academic studies, examinations, and long-term career orientation.

Connecting the University, Students, and the Labor Market

Beyond delivering specialized knowledge, the report also provided an opportunity for students to directly interact, ask questions, and exchange ideas with industry experts, including ACCA members and business representatives. Through these interactions, students were updated on emerging trends, practical requirements, and the transformation of the accounting and finance sector in the context of digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The program also encouraged students to proactively build their own academic and career development pathways, equipping themselves with additional skills, professional certifications, and a global mindset, with the goal of becoming internationally competent finance professionals capable of adapting and competing in today’s modern working environment.

The specialized report “Career Orientation – Gen Z and Accounting–Finance: From the Classroom to Employment” concluded in a dynamic atmosphere rich in both academic and practical value. The program contributed to enhancing students’ career awareness while strengthening the connection between university education and labor market demands.

Through this initiative, the Faculty of Economics and Finance continues to affirm its role as a vital bridge linking the university, students, and the business community, accompanying HUFLIT students on their journey from the classroom to professional careers in the accounting and finance fields.
