HUFLITers Take a Step Closer to Their Dream of Studying in Japan

Recently, HUFLIT officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on a student exchange program with Kanto Gakuin University (KGU – Japan). This milestone marks an important step in HUFLIT’s internationalization strategy, while opening up a wide range of opportunities for study abroad, academic exchange, and dedicated scholarships for HUFLIT students.

This event marked an important milestone in strengthening international cooperation while opening up promising academic and career pathways for HUFLIT students in Japan.

The signing ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Vice President of HUFLIT; M.A. Nguyen Thi Thieu, Head of the Office of External Relations; and representatives of the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Faculty of International Relations and Communication. Representing Kanto Gakuin University was a delegation led by Professor Hiroki Yoshida, Vice President, along with professors in charge of social sciences and humanities disciplines. The signing of the MOA stands as clear evidence of both institutions’ commitment to building a sustainable environment for cultural and educational exchange, enabling HUFLIT students to gain deeper access to Japan’s high-quality postgraduate education system.

Following the signing ceremony, both parties held discussions to further expand cooperative activities between the two universities.

Immediately afterward, the specialized report titled “Career Orientation in Japan” was conducted in two sessions, delivered in English and Japanese, attracting strong interest from students majoring in languages and cultural studies. During the sessions, experts from Kanto Gakuin University shared practical insights into the Japanese labor market, recruitment trends, and career development pathways for international students. In addition, comprehensive information on KGU’s undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs at the Faculty of Intercultural Studies—including fields such as English Language and Culture, Comparative Cultural Studies, and Sociology—was introduced to HUFLIT students.

The specialized report “Career Orientation in Japan” attracted strong interest from a large number of students majoring in languages and cultural studies.

A notable highlight of this cooperation agreement lies in the preferential policies offered to HUFLIT students participating in the exchange program. Eligible students will receive a full waiver of the admission fee valued at 150,000 yen, along with a complete tuition fee exemption ranging from 500,000 to 580,000 yen depending on the major. To apply, students are required to have Japanese language proficiency at the N2 level (which may be substituted with a faculty confirmation letter) or an appropriate level of English proficiency.

The event concluded successfully, marking a new milestone in HUFLIT’s strategy to expand international cooperation.
