HUFLITers “shows off” their creativity in creating Vietnamese cultural experience activities for a group of students from Singapore
Welcoming the student delegation from Singapore within the framework of the “Vietnam Industry Immersion Program”, HUFLIT had interesting yet intimate and profound exchange activities.
The program is implemented by Skilio company and sponsored by the Singapore Government, giving young Singaporeans the opportunity to experience Vietnamese culture and people in a profound and new way.
Before coming to the main exchange session taking place in the Conference Room, 18 Singaporean students had a tour of the classroom and chatted with students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Taking on the role of “tour guides”, students of the Faculty of International Relations of HUFLIT have created exchange activities, combining the introduction of Vietnamese cultural values and identity. This is also an opportunity for HUFLIT students to “show off” their foreign language skills and professional skills such as coming up with ideas, program content, planning organization and reception.
The Singaporean students’ journey across Vietnam began with exploring the origins and historical values of landmarks and historical sites stretching from North to South. They also participated in challenges reading the names of dishes in Vietnamese and especially the catwalk wearing traditional costumes of Vietnamese ethnic groups. These activities brought the Singaporean students truly interesting cultural exchange experiences.
Sharing her excitement when participating in the program, Heng Jia Min said: “The exchange activities were really creative and attractive. After today’s session, I understand more about the diversity in language, cuisine and culture of the whole country of Vietnam while just standing in Ho Chi Minh City .”
Tran Ho Nhat Anh, a second-year student of the Faculty of International Relations, had a very interesting experience after the program: “I am very happy to have the opportunity to interact with Singaporean students. They are very friendly. I hope that in the future there will be more sessions like this on a larger scale so that students of the School have the opportunity to participate.”
The bright smiles and attentive eyes of the international students recorded at the event are the clearest evidence for the success of the program. It can be said that the students of the Faculty of International Relations have completed their tasks excellently in applying the knowledge they have learned into practice, contributing to enhancing the image and reputation of HUFLIT.
