At the request of the University of Canterbury (New Zealand) through Education New Zealand (ENZ) under the New Zealand Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​- Information Technology (HUFLIT) hosted a reception for representatives of the University of Canterbury on the afternoon of July 30, 2019.

Attending the meeting were Dr. William Shannon – Head of International Cooperation, University of Canterbury, Ms. Tran Thi Nam Phuong – Program Coordinator, Education New Zealand (ENZ). On behalf of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages ​​- Information Technology, there were Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Phi Khu – Head of the Department of Science – Cooperation – Postgraduate Training, staff of the Department of Science – Cooperation – Postgraduate Training and foreign affairs experts of the University.

Representatives of the two schools discussed the contents that HUFLIT and the University of Canterbury can cooperate on such as training links, research and programs in both undergraduate (Bachelor of Economics) and postgraduate (Master of Business Administration).

The University of Canterbury was founded in 1873 and is located in Christchurch, the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand. The school offers many undergraduate and postgraduate programs in many fields such as: arts, business, computers, economics, education, geography, fine arts, law, management, religious studies, etc. Canterbury is considered the 3rd best university in New Zealand.
