HUFLIT students make their mark at the National Chinese Language Contest – Da Nang 2023 Finals
Recently, HUFLIT’s Foreign Language Faculty student, Thuong Thi Van Anh, excellently surpassed hundreds of talented competitors nationwide to participate in the final round of the 2023 National Chinese Language Contest. The contest took place at the Vietnam Television Center in the Central region – Da Nang City.

The National Chinese Language Contest is an event organized by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang, the University of Foreign Languages (Da Nang University), and VTV8. The contest consists of multiple rounds, including submissions, preliminary rounds organized by the Organizing Committee, and the final round in Da Nang.

As in previous years, the Foreign Language Faculty promoted this competition to students and received great interest. The Chinese Language Department faculty members selected three outstanding students to represent HUFLIT in this competition.

After excellently surpassing more than 300 entries in the second preliminary round from over 40 universities, academies, and centers nationwide, Thuong Thi Van Anh, the sole representative of HUFLIT (class TTM2102 – Chinese Language Major), excellently advanced to the final round and strived her best to achieve the Encouragement Prize.

Mr. Nguyen The Su, a representative of the Judging Panel, commented: “Most entries adhered closely to the theme of ‘The Role of Youth in Promoting Cultural Exchange and Cooperation between Vietnam and China in the Current Period’. The contestants presented their arguments fluently and accurately, with a confident style. The 35 finalists today are a testament to the increasingly improved level of Chinese language proficiency and eloquence among Vietnamese youth and students, which also demonstrates the enduring friendship between Vietnam and China.”

Within the program’s framework, contestants also participated in community activities at the Da Nang Social Support Center and explored some famous landmarks and scenic spots in the city.
By creating a beneficial playground, the contest organizers hope to enhance education, raise awareness, and thereby help young people and students constantly strive, make efforts in their studies, and become useful citizens for society.

The final round of the “National Chinese Language Contest – Da Nang 2023” concluded with resounding success. This is a memorable milestone for students of the HUFLIT Foreign Language Faculty, and we sincerely thank the support, encouragement, and motivation from families, teachers, and friends for the students to continue studying and confidently participate in national-scale competitions in the future.
