HUFLIT CO-ORGANIZED A WORKSHOP TO IMPROVE LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR MENTAL HEALTH THROUGH TETRAMAP TOOL
Understanding the importance of leadership skills and mental health in modern life, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology has collaborated with EXIM Institute for Educational and Economic Development Research to organize the workshop “Improving Leadership Skills for Mental Health through TetraMap Tool “.
In today’s era, leadership skills and mental health play an extremely important role in the success of each individual and organization. Understanding yourself and those around you is the key to building effective relationships and maximizing each person’s potential. And to fully exploit this “key”, the speaker – MSc. Madelize Bekker – Senior International TetraMap Training Expert brought to the workshop a lot of new, interesting and useful information. Thereby attracting a large number of Board of Directors of kindergartens, primary schools, representatives of universities and representatives of Human Resources Departments of corporations in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern provinces to attend.
At the workshop, Ms. Bành Phạm Ngọc Vân – Vietnam Market Director of Education New Zealand expressed her thanks to the units that organized the workshop: “I feel very happy because workshops like this will be the first steps to have more opportunities in the future. And as Associate Professor Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Vũ (Vice Principal of HUFLIT) shared, I believe that today’s workshop will bring a lot of value to the teachers who attend.”
The workshop introduced TetraMap, a learning model that helps people understand the diverse nature of human beings through the metaphor of the natural elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. The workshop included activities and experiences that were designed to be extremely specific and vivid to help participants understand how the differences and diversity of each person bring value to the way people interact and work together. Participants then explored how to apply TetraMap in leadership and management. Different personalities and leadership styles were linked to the corresponding TetraMap elements, thereby helping participants recognize the strengths and limitations of themselves and their colleagues, creating a diverse and positive working environment.
Sharing her thoughts on participating in the workshop, especially about the TetraMap tool, Dr. Do Thi Thao – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Special Education, Hanoi National University of Education excitedly said: “Through today’s session, we have learned how to recognize the positive qualities of our colleagues in the unit”, and Ms. Hoang Thi Nga – Head of the Faculty of Special Education, Ho Chi Minh City National University of Education said that thanks to that, we can create a harmonious organization and from that harmonious organization we can act effectively on the foundation of happiness.
TetraMap is a tool developed in New Zealand by Jon Brett and Yoshimi Brett and has been widely used around the world to help organizations and individuals better understand themselves and others, creating deeper understanding and improving relationships and performance. The event will focus on explaining the basic elements of TetraMap and how to apply them in leadership.
With the sharing from MSc. Madelize Bekker, the Workshop provided the necessary knowledge and skills for participants to better understand themselves and those around them, in addition to improving effective leadership and management skills, as well as improving mental health and building a positive working environment.
Hopefully, this will be a stepping stone for HUFLIT and EXIM Institute for Education and Economic Development Research to further improve leadership skills and mental health through the Tetramap tool for the Board of Directors of kindergartens and primary schools, representatives of universities in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces; and representatives of the Human Resources Department of corporations participating in the program.
