A milestone of transition, continuing the journey of development

In the development of every university, there are milestones that not only mark an organisational transformation but also open up new expectations and directions for the road ahead. For HUFLIT, the ceremony appointing the Rector for the 2026 – 2030 term is one such milestone.

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Mạnh Hà was officially presented with the decision appointing him to the position of Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology for the 2026 – 2030 term. Alongside this, the new-term Board of Rectors was also officially introduced, continuing to take on the role of leading the university in a new period of development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Phạm Thị Thanh Uyên – Chair of the University Council emphasised that this is not merely the transfer of a leadership position, but also a continuation of the responsibility, trust and aspiration for success cultivated across many generations of HUFLIT.

That spirit is also the message running throughout the ceremony: inheriting the values that have been nurtured, and continuing HUFLIT’s development momentum.

Honouring a term full of imprints, entrusting belief for the new road ahead

One of the moving moments of the ceremony was the ritual of handing over duties and the tribute to Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, the university’s Rector for the 2020 – 2026 period.

Throughout the past term, under the leadership of Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn together with the companionship of HUFLIT’s teaching collective, the university overcame many challenges, step by step strengthening its development foundation, spreading confidence in its training quality and affirming its prestige in the academic community as well as in society.

On behalf of the University Council, Ms Phạm Thị Thanh Uyên expressed her appreciation for the dedicated contributions of Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, while affirming that the achievements of the past term are not merely the result of one stage but will continue to become a valuable foundation for HUFLIT’s next development journey.

The moments of tribute and the good wishes exchanged on stage were not only a thank you for a term completed in full, but also an entrusting of belief and a spirit of continuity between generations of leaders – a value always preserved throughout the university’s development.

The new Rector and the vision for the 2026 – 2030 term

Taking on the important responsibility of HUFLIT Rector for the 2026 – 2030 term is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Mạnh Hà —an education manager with many years of experience in teaching, research and management at major universities and educational technology units in Vietnam.

With a deep professional foundation in the fields of technology, digital transformation and systems management, together with management experience at many levels, the new Rector is expected to continue, together with the university collective, to open up new directions of development for HUFLIT in the next stage.

In his speech accepting the role, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Mạnh Hà expressed his appreciation for the trust of the University Council, while sharing that he takes on the new responsibility with humility, gratitude and a great sense of responsibility towards the university collective, its learners and society.

According to him, higher education is facing powerful changes in the context of globalisation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and increasingly deep and wide demands for integration. This requires universities to quickly perfect themselves to adapt to change in order to affirm their role in creating knowledge, driving innovation and contributing to social development in the new era.

On the foundation of more than 34 years of construction and development, HUFLIT continues to hold firm to its goal of becoming an application-oriented university, promoting the distinctive strengths that have created the university’s identity: “Fluent in foreign languages, skilled in technology, solid in expertise”, while building a modern, flexible educational ecosystem more closely tied to practical needs.

Alongside this, the university will continue to invest in building an educational ecosystem based on two core foundations, foreign languages and technology, focusing on raising the quality of its staff, strengthening business cooperation, promoting applied research and creating more opportunities for practical experience for learners.

Entering the 2026 – 2030 period, HUFLIT continues to carry the spirit of inheritance, innovation and integration, aiming to affirm its position as a dynamic university, rich in identity and adaptable to the changes of the times.
