The Google Digital Talent 2025 program, launched in April 2025 by Google, HUFLIT, and the National Innovation Center (NIC), is designed for HUFLIT faculty, students, alumni, and graduate students. The program offers fully funded scholarships (valued at $420 per year), giving participants access to 12 digital skills courses on Coursera, all designed by Google.
In addition, upon completion, participants receive a Google Career Certificate, covering digital skills in areas such as AI Essentials, Prompting Essentials, Agile Essentials, Project Management, IT Support, IT Automation with Python, Data Analytics and Advanced Data Analytics, UX Design, Digital Marketing & E-Commerce, Cybersecurity, and Business Intelligence.
Impressive Numbers
In a short period, the Digital Talent program at HUFLIT attracted 668 participants, including students, alumni, graduate students, and faculty, staff, and administrative personnel (FSAP). Remarkably, within just four months, the HUFLIT learning community completed 780 Google Career Certificates, with many participants proactively finishing more than one course.
Beyond the numbers, this achievement demonstrates the lifelong learning spirit of the participants and the university’s efforts to create an environment where learners are encouraged and supported to continuously grow and develop.
The Story of HUFLIT’s “Digital Citizens”
The impact of the program is reflected not only in numbers but also through inspiring stories from the participants themselves. Post-course surveys revealed how learners effectively applied digital skills in their daily work and life.
For courses related to artificial intelligence, many participants reported that AI is no longer a distant concept but a powerful tool. “The AI course helped me learn how to use AI more intelligently, and I now see Gemini as my personal assistant,” shared one participant. Another mentioned learning how to “provide data clearly and systematically so AI can support me most effectively,” which saved time on research and information retrieval. Many have also applied AI to professional email writing and planning.
For faculty members, AI has been applied to lesson planning, making work easier and more optimized. Hoàng Tú, a student from the Faculty of Information Technology, shared that in a group assignment on cybersecurity, he applied knowledge from the course to analyze vulnerabilities in a test system, propose fixes, and successfully test solutions.
Through the courses in the program, participants not only focused on technical skills but also developed important soft skills. Tấn Kiệt, a student from the Faculty of Information Technology, shared that project management courses helped him “improve my skills in creating Agile storyboards to manage programming project progress.” Another participant enhanced data analysis skills and became familiar with new tools such as R and Tableau, supporting both academic and real-world projects. Phan Trọng Đại, a HUFLIT alumnus, reported that after completing the UX Design course, he was able to design a personal portfolio, increasing his competitiveness with other candidates.
In the era of digital transformation, lifelong learning has become a core competency for individuals to adapt and contribute to society. This aligns with HUFLIT’s mission: to train global citizens who can master knowledge, embrace innovation, and continuously develop. The Digital Talent program at HUFLIT serves as concrete evidence, equipping students with foreign language proficiency, IT skills, and practical experiences, providing a solid foundation to confidently seize future career opportunities.
