The Faculty of Foreign Languages Youth Union – Student Association Launches the “Train of Gratitude” to Deliver Messages of Appreciation
This journey was initiated with the aim of spreading gratitude across HUFLIT campuses, connecting students and lecturers through sincere stories, meaningful tokens of appreciation, and touching moments.
Within HUFLIT’s flow of knowledge, lecturers are often likened to trains guiding students through each stage of growth. In recognition of their enduring contributions and quiet dedication, and in celebration of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20/11/1982 – 20/11/2025), the Youth Union – Student Association of the Faculty of Foreign Languages introduced the 2025 “Words of Gratitude” activity series, symbolized by the image of the “Train of Gratitude.”
“Words of Gratitude” is an annual initiative organized by the Faculty of Foreign Languages Youth Union – Student Association every November, honoring educators who devote their hearts and efforts to the noble mission of teaching.
In 2025, the “Words of Gratitude” series was carried out through four “emotional carriages”: the online activity “Capture the Moment – Cherish the One,” the “Words of Gratitude” check-in space, the “Notebook of Love” contest, and the “Gratitude Festival.” Each activity was designed as a meaningful stop along the journey, where students could express thanks, mark milestones of personal growth, and pay tribute to those who have accompanied them throughout their academic path.
The first stop of the “Train of Gratitude” journey was the online activity “Capture the Moment – Cherish the One,”held from November 10 to November 16, 2025. Students revisited meaningful moments shared with their lecturers and posted them on their personal platforms along with heartfelt stories of appreciation.
This activity came together to form an emotional “collective portrait,” where each post became a carriage of memories and each image served as a sincere message of gratitude.
Moving on to the next stop, the “Words of Gratitude” check-in space was set up at the Hóc Môn and Sư Vạn Hạnh campuses from November 14 to November 20, 2025. Designed to resemble a train carriage, the space became a heartfelt stop along the journey of appreciation, offering students a place to capture memorable moments of the “Season of Gratitude.” The strong student participation transformed this space into a meeting point of respect, emotion, and simple yet sincere stories.
The third emotional carriage was the “Notebook of Love” contest, held on November 14, 2025, at both the Hóc Môn and Sư Vạn Hạnh campuses. In this activity, students worked in pairs and were provided with notebooks by the Organizing Committee to create personalized designs. Each notebook, though small in form, carried the students’ dedication and heartfelt appreciation, serving as a sincere gift to the “conductors of knowledge” in celebration of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.
The journey concluded with the “Gratitude Festival,” held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 18, 2025, at the Hóc Môn campus. This final station of the “Train of Gratitude” was where the Organizing Committee prepared a tea break, flowers, and gifts for lecturers currently teaching at HUFLIT.
Blending a sense of formality with warmth, the event created a truly special occasion in which students could personally extend their best wishes to the dedicated educators who have faithfully accompanied them on the journey of delivering knowledge to generations of learners.
In addition to the main activities, the commemorative photo area became a highlight of the festival, attracting a large number of students. The moments captured were not only keepsakes from a special day but also a testament to the close bond between HUFLIT lecturers and students.
The 2025 “Words of Gratitude” activity series received enthusiastic participation from students, reflecting a strong sense of responsibility and respect toward educators. Although each stop along the journey took a different form, all activities shared a common purpose: to spread gratitude and reaffirm the noble value of the teaching profession within the academic community.
