The talk show “Gameshow Editor – The Art of Script Creation” takes HUFLITers behind the scenes of a series of famous programs such as “The Mysterious Person”, “7 Spring Smiles”, “Fast as Lightning”, “2 Days 1 Night”,… with Ms. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc Ha – editor and scriptwriter with nearly 10 years of experience in the industry.

In an era where the entertainment industry is growing rapidly, many TV game shows are both entertaining programs that bring laughter and a “playground” that demonstrates the creativity, organizational thinking and storytelling skills of the entire team behind the scenes. In which, the game show editor plays the role of the “architect” of each broadcast episode – the person who comes up with ideas, builds the program structure, selects appropriate content and connects all elements into a product that attracts viewers.

The talk show “Gameshow Editor – The Art of Script Creation” organized by the ILLUMINATE group – students of the Faculty of International Relations & Communication, not only opens up a clear perspective on an interesting but challenging profession, but also helps students equip themselves with more knowledge, practical skills and motivation to pursue the field of content editing professionally and passionately.

The talk show was a success with the participation of the program’s guest speaker – Ms. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc Ha, freelance editor and screenwriter – who is behind the content creation of popular TV shows such as The Secret Person , 7 Spring Smiles , Lightning Fast , 2 Days 1 Night , and many other creative formats. With more than 8 years of experience “behind the stage lights”, she brought a genuine, close-up and strongly inspiring sharing session to the HUFLIT student generation.

Speaker Nguyen Phuong Ngoc Ha shares in the Talkshow

Opening the talk show, with a friendly sharing style, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Ngoc Ha helped students understand the core role of the editor – a position that is “hidden” but plays a key role in the success of each television program. From developing ideas, grasping the audience’s psychology, coordinating content to connecting the whole crew to create a well-prepared program.

Not stopping at theory, Ms. Ha also emphasized necessary qualities such as creativity, flexibility and teamwork skills, indispensable provisions to enter the challenging but potential field of television content editing.

Ms. Ngoc Ha shares real stories with students

Continuing the career portrait, Ms. Ha shared the secrets learned from her 8-year journey of “being friends” with the television backstage. According to her, creative inspiration does not come from lofty things but starts from everyday life, where real emotions and sincere connections with the audience are contained.

Challenging “handlings” such as changing guests close to the recording time or handling situations that arise on the scene have become a real “test” for flexibility and initiative – indispensable qualities of an editor. For Ms. Ha, the success of a game show lies not only in its new format but also in its ability to touch the emotions of viewers and maintain its “uniqueness” – the true soul of each program.

The atmosphere in the hall became lively with a series of questions from students revolving around content creation skills, backstage crisis handling and methods of building attractive game shows, etc. Those open exchanges showed HUFLITers’ serious learning spirit and progressive attitude, proactively seizing learning opportunities through practical activities.
