The event attracted more than 730 participants from staff, experts, lecturers and students, thereby demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, the tradition of mutual love and warm sharing of the HUFLIT community. Voluntary blood donation has become a place to connect kind hearts to spread the noble act of blood donation to save lives to the whole society.
To attract the enthusiastic participation of a large number of teachers and students, the program’s propaganda work has been widely deployed from the very beginning. Information about the program has been widely spread through many diverse forms, helping HUFLIT students to easily access, grasp quickly and accurately. Thanks to that, awareness of the humanistic meaning of blood donation has been significantly enhanced, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing in the student community.
Coming to the program, voluntary blood donors are always closely guided and enthusiastically supported by the Organizing Committee and Collaborators throughout the blood donation process. The team of doctors and medical experts from the Ho Chi Minh City Humanitarian Blood Donation Center is always ready to examine and care for HUFLITers who come to donate blood at the program.
During this school year, the Program Organizing Committee continues to deploy the online blood donation registration form through the “Golden Blood Drops” application to optimize the process of procedures and information filling. After completing the registration, individuals participating in blood donation will continue with the remaining steps in the process including: Blood pressure measurement, screening & blood testing, drinking sweet tea, donating blood and receiving certificates and gifts.
At the end of 02 Voluntary Blood Donation campaigns in the 2024-2025 school year, the program successfully received more than 256,900 ml of blood. After receiving, the blood units will be transferred to the Blood Bank for screening, production, preservation and timely support to patients when needed. Each ml of blood is a promise of life, a belief that is lit for patients who are yearning for rays of hope to live in society. Each unit of donated blood contributes to timely replenishment of the Blood Bank, serving the needs of treating patients at medical facilities across the country.
At the program, HUFLITers also had the opportunity to share their feelings about having accompanied “Voluntary Blood Donation” many times as well as their first time donating blood.
Student Phan Thanh Duy (Class of 2021, Faculty of Business Administration) shared: “This is the 7th time I have donated blood at HUFLIT. During the 8-season journey of “Sending blood – Giving hope” of the Voluntary Blood Donation program, I feel very happy and proud to be able to contribute “drops of blood” to help patients who need blood in society. Besides, I feel very secure and excited every time I come to the program because I always receive attention and care from the team of doctors, medical professionals and the Organizing Committee and Collaborators of the program. Hopefully, in the future, the program will attract more and more HUFLIT students to participate, as well as teachers who are Lecturers and Staff at the school so that we can spread more widely the spirit of “mutual love” and the noble act of blood donation to the community”.
Student Ngo Doan Phuong Nhung (Class of 2022, Faculty of Foreign Languages) shared: “This is the first time I have participated in the Voluntary Blood Donation program. At first, I was a bit worried, but when I joined the program, I was enthusiastically guided by the Organizing Committee and Collaborators as well as received thoughtful care from the medical staff, so after donating blood, I had a lot of good impressions of the program. I hope to continue to participate in blood donation in the following seasons, and I also hope that the program will continue to grow to raise awareness about blood donation to save lives among students and widely spread the noble mission of the program.”
“Small actions – Great meaning” – The donated blood drops not only help patients prolong their lives but also contribute to continuing the kind story of each HUFLITer and spreading the positive message of the program to the community. The spirit of mutual love and social responsibility is the proud beauty of HUFLIT youth. It is the “joint efforts – unanimity” of all HUFLITers that has created a year of “Voluntary Blood Donation” that is brilliantly successful. The organizers hope that these noble acts will continue to spread strongly, bringing more opportunities to live and lighting up hope for those who need to be shared.
