Startup Visa: The solution to the international-startup problem

For working people who have accumulated enough experience and want to step out into the big sea, the Startup Visa policy deployed by the Japanese Government is a perfect “lever”. This policy creates unprecedented flexible conditions for foreigners to prepare a business foundation in Japan.

These hot updates were deeply analysed in the thematic report “Japan & Its Corporate Culture – HOT ISSUE 2026” held at HUFLIT. Under the leadership of Prof. Fumio Okita – President of the D&I Partners Organization (under the Japan Culture Association HIDA) and Mr. Tozu Ozawa – Co-founder of D&I Partners, the picture of a Japanese market transforming strongly in the digital era was vividly depicted.

Instead of the “company as a family” model that values traditional stability, Japanese enterprises today are heading toward flexible management thinking and a globalisation strategy. The repositioning story from “giants” such as Hitachi or Sony – shifting from manufacturing devices to mastering data and creative content – is the most authentic case study for anyone who wants to start up or cooperate with Japanese partners.

Kaizen, PDCA, 5S: The never-old compass in the workplace

Whether you are nurturing the dream of being your own boss or contributing at multinational corporations, the core foundations of Japanese corporate culture are always the ultimate “weapon”.

The programme not only brings a macro vision but also recalls extremely sharp micro-management tools: the spirit of discipline, continuous-improvement thinking (Kaizen), or the PDCA, 5S models. For alumni – those directly facing KPI pressure and the daily productivity-optimisation problem – flexibly applying these philosophies is the key to promotion and affirming self-worth in a volatile international environment.

Through highly topical themes, HUFLIT is proud to continue being a knowledge bridge, helping the learner community – from the current student generation to the alumni network – always be savvy about global career trends and ready in spirit to reach further on the career map.

At the HUFLIT Faculty of Foreign Languages, M.A. Tran My Uyen (Vice Dean) goes by many names. Some call her “Ms My”; her students call her “mother”. Colleagues often compare her to Mother Au Co with a hundred children. Yet to become the “mother” of the lecture hall she is today, she went through a profound shift in thinking that completely changed a teaching philosophy built over more than 30 years.
