Announcement on the Review and Award of HUFLIT New Student Scholarships for the 2026 – 2027 Academic Year
Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology announces the review of HUFLIT New Student scholarships for the 2026 – 2027 academic year, specifically as follows:
I. SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS, QUANTITY AND SCHOLARSHIP LEVELS
1. Recipients: Students who are candidates admitted and have completed enrolment procedures at Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology.
2. Quantity and scholarship levels: (See the attached appendix)
II. CRITERIA FOR REVIEWING THE TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIP
1. VALEDICTORIAN STEP-UP SCHOLARSHIP
The results are calculated based on the admission list of New Students of Course 32 for the 2026 – 2027 academic year who achieve high scores according to two admission methods: Academic transcript and the 2026 high-school graduation exam (no coefficient multiplication, no priority points, with foreign-language score conversion because of having a foreign-language certificate used for admission).
1.1 University valedictorian
Students who achieve the University Valedictorian achievement receive a scholarship worth 50% of tuition/academic year and it is maintained throughout the 3.5-year main training period (9 semesters), with the following conditions: the study grade point average of the next academic year reaches from 3.6 to 4.0 (on a 4-point scale), Excellent academic ranking; the training grade point average of the next academic year reaches 90 or above, Excellent training ranking. No failed course units during the academic year. In the case where the student meets the criteria for the HUFLIT Talented Student scholarship (only reviewed up to the 8th semester), only the highest scholarship level is taken.
1.2 Field valedictorian
Students who achieve the Field Valedictorian achievement receive a scholarship worth 25% of tuition/academic year and it is maintained throughout the 3.5-year main training period (9 semesters), with the following conditions: the study grade point average of the next academic year reaches from 3.6 to 4.0 (on a 4-point scale), Excellent academic ranking; the training grade point average of the next academic year reaches 90 or above, Excellent training ranking. No failed course units during the academic year. In the case where the student meets the criteria for the HUFLIT Talented Student or HUFLIT Striving Student scholarship (only reviewed up to the 8th semester), only the highest scholarship level is taken.
Note: The University Valedictorian and Field Valedictorian scholarships are only reviewed for continuation and maintenance for students who meet the above criteria throughout the main training period. In the case where the next academic year is not met, the University will stop reviewing this scholarship. Students are still reviewed for the HUFLIT Talented Student and HUFLIT Striving Student scholarships or the academic-year commendation (if eligible and only receiving one highest level). In the case where a New Student achieves both University Valedictorian and Field Valedictorian, they only receive the University Valedictorian scholarship level and the field valedictorian will not be reviewed for that field; at the same time they are reviewed for scholarships in the sections according to the appendix attached to this announcement (except section 2.3) and only receive the highest scholarship level.
2. TALENTED NEW STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
Based on the results of the National Grade-12 Excellent Student Exam of the 2025 – 2026 academic year in the exam subjects according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, from a Consolation Prize or above. International foreign-language certificates are still valid within 02 years from the date of issue, calculated from September 2024 to September 2026. The results are calculated based on the admission list of New Students of Course 32 for the 2026 – 2027 academic year with high admission entrance scores at HUFLIT according to two admission methods: Academic transcript and the 2026 high-school graduation exam (no coefficient multiplication, no priority points, with foreign-language score conversion because of having a foreign-language certificate used for admission).
2.1 Direct admission of National Grade-12 Excellent Students (1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize)
Students in this category receive a scholarship worth 100% of tuition/academic year and it is maintained throughout the 3.5-year main training period (9 semesters), with the following conditions: the study grade point average of the next academic year reaches from 3.6 to 4.0 (on a 4-point scale), Excellent academic ranking; the training grade point average of the next academic year reaches from 80, Good training ranking or above. No failed course units during the academic year. In the case where the student meets the criteria for the HUFLIT Talented Student or HUFLIT Striving Student scholarship (only reviewed up to the 8th semester), only the highest scholarship level is taken.
2.2 Direct admission of National Grade-12 Excellent Students (Consolation)
Students in this category receive a scholarship worth 50% of tuition/academic year and it is maintained throughout the 3.5-year main training period (9 semesters), with the following conditions: the study grade point average of the next academic year reaches from 3.6 to 4.0 (on a 4-point scale), Excellent academic ranking; the training grade point average of the next academic year reaches from 80, Good training ranking or above. No failed course units during the academic year. In the case where the student meets the criteria for the HUFLIT Talented Student or HUFLIT Striving Student scholarship (only reviewed up to the 8th semester), only the highest scholarship level is taken.
2.3 International foreign-language certificate
Students with an international foreign-language certificate according to the regulations must submit their application within the time in the announcement, and the certificate must still be valid according to the regulations. If a student is both admitted directly as an excellent student and has an international foreign-language certificate according to the regulations, they only receive the highest slot; in the case where the student achieves the University Valedictorian or Field Valedictorian achievement, they are not reviewed for a scholarship in this category. Cases that are dishonest, using forged documents for review, will have the scholarship revoked and be considered for discipline from suspension of study for a fixed term to compulsory expulsion.
2.4 High admission entrance score
Students who achieve from 25 points for the high-school graduation exam-score method or from 27 points for the high-school academic-result method receive a scholarship worth 20% of tuition/academic year and it is maintained throughout the 3.5-year main training period (9 semesters), with the following conditions: the study grade point average of the next academic year reaches from 3.6 to 4.0 (on a 4-point scale), Excellent academic ranking; the training grade point average of the next academic year reaches from 80, Good training ranking or above. No failed course units during the academic year. In the case where the student meets the criteria for the HUFLIT Talented Student or HUFLIT Striving Student scholarship (only reviewed up to the 8th semester), only the highest scholarship level is taken.
Note: The Direct Admission of National Grade-12 Excellent Students scholarship and the high admission entrance score scholarship are only reviewed for continuation and maintenance for students who meet the above criteria throughout the main training period. In the case where the next academic year is not met, the University will stop reviewing this scholarship. Students are still reviewed for the HUFLIT Talented Student and HUFLIT Striving Student scholarships (only reviewed up to the 8th semester) or the academic-year commendation (if eligible and only receiving one highest level). 3. EXPERIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
Students receive a scholarship worth 20% of tuition/academic year and it is maintained throughout the 3.5-year main training period (9 semesters) when registering to study 01 of the 09 fields: Law, Economic Law, Tourism and Travel Service Management, Hotel Management, Oriental Studies, Japanese Language, Artificial Intelligence, Accounting and Auditing. From the 2nd academic year onwards, the scholarship level the student receives is as follows:
+ 20% of tuition/academic year if the study grade point average reaches from 3.6 to 4.0 (on a 4-point scale), Excellent academic ranking; the training grade point average reaches from 80, Good training ranking or above.
+ 15% of tuition/academic year if the study grade point average reaches from 3.2 to below 3.6 (on a 4-point scale), Good academic ranking; the training grade point average reaches from 80, Good training ranking or above.
Note: No failed course units during the academic year. In the case where the student meets the criteria for the HUFLIT Talented Student or HUFLIT Striving Student scholarship (only reviewed up to the 8th semester), only the highest scholarship level is taken. At the same time, they are reviewed for scholarships in sections 2.3 and 4 according to the appendix attached to this announcement.
4. CONNECTION SCHOLARSHIP
The Admissions Office, based on the list of pupils from high schools connected with Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology in the 2025 – 2026 academic year who have submitted an application requesting scholarship review and sent a Proposal through the Political Affairs – Student Affairs Office, advises the list (each pupil/school) for the University’s Emulation – Commendation Council to consider and issue a decision.
5. FIRST-ASPIRATION SCHOLARSHIP
New students admitted with first aspiration to HUFLIT in 2026 who have registered for scholarship review receive a scholarship of 50% of tuition/Semester 1/the 2026 – 2027 academic year.
The University Undergraduate Training Office, based on the first-aspiration admission situation of New Students of Course 32 for the 2026 – 2027 academic year on the Ministry of Education and Training’s system, sends the list of students meeting the conditions for the Political Affairs – Student Affairs Office to advise the list for the University’s Emulation – Commendation Council to consider and issue a decision.
Note: The scholarship is only reviewed in Semester 1 of the 2026 – 2027 academic year (In the case of being eligible for another scholarship level, only one highest level is received). At the same time, they are reviewed for scholarships in sections 2.3 and 4 according to the appendix attached to this announcement.
6. WHOLE-COURSE STUDY SCHOLARSHIP AT THE HÓC MÔN CAMPUS
New students, when registering to study the whole course at the Hóc Môn campus, receive a scholarship of 15% of tuition/whole course and it applies to 15 fields: English Language; Chinese Language; Korean Language; Information Technology (except the Microchip Engineering specialisation); E-commerce; Artificial Intelligence; Software Engineering; Business Administration; International Business; Logistics and Supply Chain Management; Marketing; International Relations; Public Relations; Multimedia Communication and Finance – Banking.
The scholarship refund time is expected to be about 15 working days, calculated from the day the candidate completes enrolment procedures at the University.
The University Undergraduate Training Office, based on the list of registrations to study at the Hóc Môn campus of New Students of Course 32 for the 2026 – 2027 academic year, sends the list of students meeting the conditions for the Political Affairs – Student Affairs Office to advise the list for the University’s Emulation – Commendation Council to consider and issue a decision.
Note: This scholarship is only reviewed for continuation and maintenance for students who fulfil the commitment to study the whole course at the Hóc Môn campus; the University will stop reviewing the scholarship and the student must reimburse the entire scholarship received if the student drops out or changes campus. At the same time, they are reviewed for scholarships in sections 2.3 and 4 according to the appendix attached to this announcement.
III. METHOD, TIME AND PLACE FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS
3.1 Valedictorian Step-up Scholarship; Talented New Student Scholarship (For High admission entrance score); Experience Scholarship; First-Aspiration Scholarship and Whole-course study scholarship at the Hóc Môn campus.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology, based on the admission list of New Students of Course 32, the 2026 – 2027 academic year, reviews and decides; New Students do not need to prepare an application or proof.
3.2 Talented New Student Scholarship (For Direct admission of National Grade-12 Excellent Students, International foreign-language certificate) and Connection Scholarship.
3.2.1 Talented New Student Scholarship (For Direct admission of National Grade-12 Excellent Students, International foreign-language certificate)

In whichever category the New Student is reviewed for a scholarship, they submit the appropriate accompanying proof, specifically:
+ Direct admission of National Grade-12 Excellent Students: Submit a certified photocopy of the certificate of merit, commendation certificate or award certificate and a clear colour scan file of the original, with full serial number, date, signature and seal.
+ International foreign-language certificate: Submit a paper copy with exam-score confirmation from the certificate-issuing unit and a clear colour scan file of the original, with full serial number, date, signature and seal.
