The program is part of the Case Study Lab project, a specialized initiative connecting HUFLIT lecturers with industry experts, organized by the Center for Student Support and Corporate Relations.

Updating Trends: The Labor Market in the “Era of Transition”

Opening the program, Ms. Nguyen Ly Kieu Kien, Senior Recruitment Consultant at Navigos Group (the parent company of the VietnamWorks brand), provided an overall view of Vietnam’s labor market in the 2024–2025 period. Rather than focusing on dry statistics, the report emphasized qualitative shifts in the workforce. Today’s labor market no longer values academic qualifications alone, but places strong emphasis on workers’ adaptability in a context where technology evolves on a daily basis.

A notable highlight was the strong wave of “restructuring” and “strategic realignment” taking place both globally and in Vietnam. Many enterprises are streamlining their organizational structures while prioritizing investment in AI and automation to optimize operations. This trend poses an urgent question for education: how to ensure that students are not only professionally competent but also equipped with new skill sets to avoid being replaced by technology.

Innovating Teaching Methods: Turning Case Studies into Inspiring Stories

Continuing the sharing session, M.A. Pham Cong Nhat, Communications Director of DOL IELTS Dinh Luc, offered insightful perspectives on how to engage Gen Z students—the generation of “digital citizens.” To move beyond one-way, theory-heavy lectures, the speaker suggested using real-world case studies as relatable and meaningful stories.

One key strategy highlighted was the shift from purely informational language to story-driven communication that resonates emotionally. By maximizing visual elements and stimulating curiosity through discussions and critical debates, lecturers can help students retain knowledge more deeply and develop sharper analytical thinking when approaching real business challenges.

Lecturers “Check” Knowledge Through an Interactive Mini Game

The discussion atmosphere became more vibrant and energetic than ever during the mini-game session. This activity provided an opportunity for lecturers to review and systematize key concepts related to the labor market trends that had just been presented.

Questions revolving around recruitment trends and the “golden” skill sets expected to be in high demand over the next five years received enthusiastic responses. Raised hands, rounds of applause, and moments of shared laughter as valuable “insights” were revealed created a warm and highly connected atmosphere. Notably, the ten lecturers with the highest scores were presented with meaningful appreciation gifts, bringing an energetic and engaging morning session to a memorable close.
