A SPECIAL “CLASS SESSION” AT HUFLIT
Thirty students from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and several other universities from the “Lion City” had unforgettable experiences during their exchange program with HUFLIT students. They began their “cultural class,” which was designed and led by HUFLITers from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality.

This was not an event organized by professionals, but rather a creative playground initiated and carried out directly by HUFLIT students. From the very first moments, the usual formality of international exchange programs was replaced with warmth, friendliness, and excitement. The Singaporean students were welcomed not only as guests, but as close friends about to embark on a vibrant cultural journey together.

The highlight of the “cultural class” was the introduction and presentation of traditional Vietnamese attire. This was not merely a fashion show, but a lively stage where Vietnamese culture was vividly brought to life. Under the witty and engaging guidance of students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, each graceful ao dai and each colorful ethnic costume was no longer just a static outfit. They became stories — of thousands of years of history, of regional identity, of customs and traditions, and of the Vietnamese soul.
Enthusiasm shone in every eye as the Singaporean students not only listened attentively but also asked questions. Many expressed amazement and excitement when given the chance to experience it for themselves.

The most memorable moment came when the Singaporean students were invited to wear traditional Vietnamese costumes. Language and cultural barriers seemed to fade away, leaving only bright smiles and shared joy. The young men and women from the “Lion City” looked charmingly different in the graceful ao dai. Together, they posed for photos, capturing precious memories to cherish.

The program also provided opportunities for students from both countries to participate in interactive activities together. The atmosphere became even livelier as HUFLIT students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality continued their role as gracious hosts, guiding the Singaporean students in preparing several beverages and organizing fun group games.
At the beverage counter, the HUFLIT students showcased impressive professionalism and technical skills. From introducing ingredients and demonstrating precise mixing techniques to presenting drinks beautifully and balancing unique flavors, every step reflected their solid knowledge and strong practical expertise.

The team-building games that followed truly erased all boundaries. Laughter, cheers, and a strong sense of teamwork brought everyone together, turning strangers into friends. Through these activities, HUFLIT students also demonstrated their remarkable event organization, crowd management, and facilitation skills — essential qualities for students of Tourism and Hospitality.

The exchange program came to an end, but its echoes will surely linger. Countless moments at HUFLIT have turned into beautiful photographs, filling each Singaporean student’s “Vietnam” album. They are not only memories of a trip, but also a reminder of a friendly and hospitable Vietnam — and of HUFLIT, a dynamic and creative university always ready to open its cultural doors to welcome international friends.

This event once again affirmed the vision and training quality of HUFLIT in general, and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality in particular. The university is nurturing a generation of professionals who are not only academically competent but also equipped with strong soft skills and a global mindset. This is achieved through practical learning opportunities provided to students, allowing them to confidently express themselves and become true cultural ambassadors. HUFLIT looks forward to hosting more cultural exchange programs with international students in the future, aiming to establish itself as a reputable and high-quality destination for cultural and academic exchange in the eyes of global friends.
