Chinese Language Studies – The Gateway Connecting Gen Z to a Billion-Person Empire
China is the world’s second-largest economy and Vietnam’s biggest trading partner. As of July 2024, China leads in new investment projects in Vietnam with 540 projects, totaling over $1.22 billion (according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment).
This increase in investment has driven up the demand for personnel who speak Chinese. Companies are offering salaries of 20-40 million VND per month for positions requiring Chinese language skills (according to CareerLink and TopCV).
In this context, HUFLIT’s Chinese Language major is the “key” that unlocks a wide range of career opportunities, helping you become the bridge between these two strongly connected economies.
1. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
At HUFLIT, students in the Chinese Language major are trained in both language proficiency and professional skills, with the option to specialize in four different areas:
- Office Administration: Develops administrative, reception, secretarial, and assistant skills—positions in high demand for Chinese-speaking professionals.
- Business Chinese: Focuses on business communication, negotiation, and customer service skills—ideal for the growing Vietnam-China trade relationship.
- English-Chinese Bilingualism: Trains students to be proficient in both languages—a major advantage for jobs requiring international communication.
- Chinese for Tourism: Provides industry knowledge, tour guide skills, and tour organization abilities—perfect for the growing trend of multinational tourism.
In addition to Chinese, HUFLIT students learn a second foreign language (English, Japanese, Korean, or French), take classes with native-speaking instructors, and practice communication, presentation, and teamwork skills through elective modules, projects, real-world experiences, and corporate internships.
