On the morning of December 6, 2024, at the 6th-floor auditorium of HUFLIT Sư Vạn Hạnh campus, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, in collaboration with National Geographic Learning, organized a specialized report on the topic “Critical Thinking in the AI Era – The Key to Student Success.” The event attracted more than 300 students from various faculties.

The keynote speaker was Ms. Nguyễn Huệ Chi, a training and academic expert from National Geographic Learning. With extensive experience in education and soft skills development, she provided students with effective methods to cultivate analytical thinking, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills—key factors that contribute to academic and career success.

During the session, the speaker engaged students in practical exercises to enhance their critical thinking through real-life scenarios. These activities helped students improve their ability to assess, reason, and view issues from multiple perspectives.

Students could easily grasp key concepts through practical exercises led by the speaker.

Ms. Nguyễn Huệ Chi also emphasized the importance of sharp analytical thinking, enabling students to not only approach information proactively but also develop the ability to ask questions and critically evaluate diverse sources of information.

Additionally, the session focused on enhancing problem-solving skills, especially in an era where AI is rapidly advancing. The speaker highlighted the necessity for students to be adaptable, creative, and to use technology as a supporting tool rather than becoming overly dependent on it.

  • Proud to be HUFLITers #07 | M.A. Tran My Uyen – A lectern where a teacher wishes only to “watch her children grow up”
At the HUFLIT Faculty of Foreign Languages, M.A. Tran My Uyen (Vice Dean) goes by many names. Some call her “Ms My”; her students call her “mother”. Colleagues often compare her to Mother Au Co with a hundred children. Yet to become the “mother” of the lecture hall she is today, she went through a profound shift in thinking that completely changed a teaching philosophy built over more than 30 years.
