Explore the world through the lens of a photojournalist at the talk show “Scence Lens”
To create photos that “tell stories,” it takes more than just raising a camera and pressing the shutter button. Behind every “valuable” moment is relentless effort, sharp instincts, and the skillful artistry of a photojournalist.
On the afternoon of November 26, 2024, the ECLIPSE student group from the Faculty of International Relations and Communications (FIR&C) at HUFLIT organized a talk show titled “Scence Lens.” This inspiring educational event provided HUFLIT students with an opportunity to delve deeper into the world of photojournalism, offering insights into the life and work of photojournalists.
Accompanying the students was journalist Nguyen Doc Lap, the event’s keynote speaker. With over 12 years of experience as a photojournalist at Thanh Nien newspaper, he has traveled across the country with his camera always at the ready, capturing moments from border regions, islands, and even the epicenters of epidemics. His lens has immortalized “golden moments” at major sports events such as the SEA Games, AFF Cup, and U-20 WORLD CUP 2017, preserving the triumphant emotions of athletes and the pride of spectators.
During the interactive session, Mr. Lap answered students’ engaging questions, ranging from choosing photography units to tips for creating images with high informational value. He offered heartfelt advice to aspiring photojournalists, emphasizing the importance of passion and responsibility in achieving success in the field.
The “Scene Lens” talk show not only helped HUFLIT students gain a deeper understanding of photojournalism but also offered a chance to enhance their knowledge and skills essential for a future in journalism. It inspired students to pursue their passion with greater motivation and dedication.
