Lam Tuong Thoai – Secretary of the team, and other members, including Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Hong, Dr. Nguyen Duy Mong Ha, Dr. Huynh Kha Tu, Dr. Le Chi Lan, MSc. Nguyen Thi Huyen, and MSc. Hoang Tho Phu.

In the opening session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh highly appreciated HUFLIT’s preparations for the official survey to serve the External Evaluation (EE) of the quality of the three majors’ educational programs. She also committed to implementing the EE process in accordance with the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, ensuring fairness, integrity, and objectivity. Based on the preliminary survey results on January 21st, 2022, the External Evaluation Team hopes for a successful outcome in the official survey. According to the plan, the official survey will be conducted from February 23rd to February 26th, 2022.

Addressing the opening session, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – President of HUFLIT warmly welcomed the External Evaluation Team from the Center for Education Accreditation – Ho Chi Minh City National University (CEA-VNUHCM) and committed to providing maximum conditions for the team to carry out their tasks. He also requested the cooperation of all faculties, departments, and relevant units to work closely with the External Evaluation Team to ensure the successful completion of the official survey and assessment of the quality of the educational programs in the three majors at the HUFLIT.
Next, the External Evaluation Team held meetings with the Heads of Departments, the Council of Science and Education, and the Self-Assessment Council of the three faculties to introduce the purpose and scope of the official survey, as well as discuss the management units of the educational programs, the process and results of the self-assessment, and exchange on any issues that need clarification.
In the following days, the External Evaluation Team conducted in-depth research of documentary evidence, materials, conducted visits, interviews, and discussions with various offices and departments, visited libraries, classrooms, laboratories, practical rooms, observed both academic and extracurricular activities, and interviewed administrators, lecturers, support staff, students, alumni, and employers.

After an urgent and serious implementation of the official survey to serve the External Evaluation of the quality of the educational programs in the three majors: Information Technology (IT), English Studies (ES), and Business Administration (BA) at HUFLIT, on the morning of February 26th, 2022, the Center for Education Accreditation – Ho Chi Minh City National University (CEA-VNUHCM) and HUFLIT solemnly organized the closing ceremony for the official survey at the University.

At the closing ceremony, the External Evaluation Team was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh, the leader of the team, and other team members.

In her closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh affirmed that the official survey to serve the External Evaluation of the educational programs in the fields of Information Technology (IT), English Language (EL), and Business Administration (BA) at HUFLIT has been successfully completed. The External Evaluation Team conducted a thorough examination of documentation, evidence, interviews regarding the achievement of program outcomes, teaching activities of the lecturers, facilities, and the attitude of support staff. They also conducted on-site observations, visits, class sessions, and checked the accuracy of evidence provided by the departments. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh once again highly praised the preparations made by HUFLIT for the official survey to serve the External Evaluation of the educational programs. She sincerely thanked HUFLIT for the warm welcome, preparation of evidence, and information support, which facilitated the completion of the team’s task.

In the preliminary report on the results of the official survey serving the External Evaluation of the quality of the three educational programs, the inspector highlighted the strengths and identified areas that need improvement to align with the quality assessment criteria of HUFLIT. Additionally, the team provided recommendations for enhancing the quality of the three majors, laying the foundation for improving the overall quality of education and elevating the position of the faculties and the university. Based on this assessment, the team will finalize the evaluation report to be submitted to HUFLIT.

On behalf of HUFLIT, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, HUFLIT President, sincerely thanked the External Evaluation Team for objectively assessing the educational programs in the fields of Information Technology (IT), English Studies (ES), and Business Administration (BA) within a short period, despite the heavy workload. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan regarded the conclusions and recommendations of the External Evaluation Team as highly reasonable and significant for the development of the educational programs and HUFLIT in constructing and cultivating a quality culture, as well as enhancing quality assurance activities in all aspects of the University’s operations. On behalf of the university’s leadership, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan acknowledged and embraced the feedback, suggestions, and recommendations provided by the External Evaluation Team to improve the quality of the three programs and all other educational programs offered by HUFLIT in the future.
