HUFLIT HOLDS A SEMINAR ON “HAPPY LECTURERS – SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS”

Teachers are living examples of enthusiasm and passion for their work; they not only impart knowledge but also help students clearly recognise the profound value of learning and self-development through every lesson and every day at university. A happy, healthy lecturer who loves the profession creates a positive learning environment in which students are encouraged and constantly motivated to rise, overcome challenges and conquer new heights.

For that reason, the seminar not only updated and deepened knowledge of university teaching methods but also emphasised the important role of improving teachers’ physical and mental health. When lecturers are happy, they impart not only professional knowledge but also inspiration about humane values, compassion and dedication to society. Phase 1 of the seminar was attended by lecturers from the Faculties of Tourism – Hospitality, Economics – Finance and Law. The programme is expected to continue with diverse activities and topics in subsequent phases.

Within the framework of the programme, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu shared in-depth insights into differentiated teaching methods, opening up deeper and more effective approaches to unlocking the potential of each student. He introduced prominent learning theories such as left brain/right brain, VARK and multiple intelligences, helping lecturers not only impart knowledge but also understand and support students in maximising their individual abilities. These tools help lecturers set clear learning objectives and apply effective teaching methods suited to each student’s needs and learning style, thereby raising teaching quality and how effectively learners absorb knowledge.  

A special feature of the session was its emphasis on techniques for improving lecturers’ physical and mental health. Methods such as Wim Hof meditation and Nunchaku moving meditation not only help teachers improve their health but also maintain a refreshed, creative and energetic spirit. Health is the solid foundation that allows teachers to sustain their passion and devote themselves fully to their profession, continuing to nurture the hearts and minds that open the door to the future for generations of students.  

Teaching is not merely a job but a noble mission. To fulfil that mission, teachers need not only to continuously hone their knowledge and skills but also care and support from their working environment. Understanding this, HUFLIT always places attention to the lives and health of its teachers among its top priorities. For when the “ferryman” is healthy and happy, the boat of knowledge will steadily weather the storms and carry generations of students to the shore of the future. The seminar “Happy lecturers – Successful students” is part of the University’s commitment to helping lecturers improve their physical and mental health, so that they may continue to contribute and build a solid foundation for HUFLIT’s educational mission.
