An overview of the training course on programme assessment under the FIBAA set of standards

FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) – A European non-profit organisation for the assurance and development of higher education quality. FIBAA’s mission is to accredit, assess and develop educational institutions and programmes worldwide. The training content aimed to introduce programme-level self-assessment under the FIBAA set of standards, while sharing experience and activities in the programme assessment process, contributing to strengthening the capacity of staff, lecturers and specialists at the faculties and functional departments of the University in programme quality accreditation.

Speaking at the training course, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Manh Ha – Vice Rector emphasised the importance of programme quality accreditation in enhancing the University’s brand, standing and training quality; he also gave an overview of the educational quality accreditation work the University has carried out over the past period. He hoped that participants would acquire new knowledge and experience from the experts to best support activities along the roadmap for quality assurance under the FIBAA set of standards.Assoc. Participants listened to Dr. Duong Nhu Hung – an expert from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, VNU-HCM, who has assessed 10 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as FIBAA’s Country Expert in Vietnam since 2017 – introduce the FIBAA set of accreditation standards, including: the perspective and substance of the assessment criteria and the rating scale; standards on resources and quality assurance; the steps to prepare for the assessment process, how to write a self-assessment report, and how to identify the core evidence that meets the criteria in this set of standards. According to Dr. Hung, self-assessment work requires smooth coordination among units in collecting and compiling evidence.
