Continuing the mark of previous seasons, the programme is built around a series of 3 core activities: the online book review contest “Global Storytellers”, the book exhibition “Echoes of Classics” and the talkshow “The Art of Translation: The Lens of the Translator”.

The series of events brought an inspiring cultural space, connecting students who love books and spreading the value of classic literature to the learning community. With thousands of participations, the programme became a standout highlight in the series of extracurricular activities of the Faculty of International Relations & Communications this academic year.

Everyone can become a “storyteller” with their own identity

Kicking off the series of events was the online book review contest named “Global Storytellers”. This was not only an academic playing field but also a forum for HUFLIT students to demonstrate their ability to analyse and appreciate literature and their multimedia communication skills. With diverse entry formats from reflective essays to creative short videos, the contest sparked a passion for reading in the student community.

Classic works that once seemed distant have now been refreshed by young people through a modern lens, full of personality and the breath of the times. Each entry is a story about the journey of exploring knowledge, where humanistic values are powerfully spread through the strength of language and images.

Not stopping at summarising content, “Global Storytellers” was also a chance for students to develop critical thinking and the ability to present personal viewpoints on the topical issues entrusted in each page of a book. The contest created a lively wave of discussion on social media platforms, helping turn reading culture into a vivid and inspiring movement in the hearts of students.

The “Echoes of Classics” book exhibition – A space of timeless values

Held from 21 April 2026 to 23 April 2026 in Hall B, the Sư Vạn Hạnh campus, HUFLIT, the Exhibition space was likened to a “time train” taking viewers back to classic values. Inspired by the thousand-mile journey between planets in “The Little Prince”, the exhibition space did not stop at display but also re-created a poetic worldview.

Iconic images of “The Little Prince”, as well as the proud rose or the little fox, were skilfully interwoven among the book stalls. With a refined decorating style, every decor corner in Hall B was meticulously cared for to become “one-of-a-kind” check-in spots for students.

Alongside displaying valuable titles from Kim Đồng Publishing House, the Exhibition also impressed with exclusive gift sets from the Organising Committee, together with a check-in booth area helping students confidently show off their personality and capture their most brilliant moments beside the pages of books.

Valuable stories from the profession

One of the most important highlights of this year’s FIRC Book Fair was the Talkshow held on the evening of 22 April 2026 in the 6th-floor Hall, the Sư Vạn Hạnh campus, HUFLIT. The programme featured speaker Lê Hồng Phương Hạ – who is dubbed the “word wizard”, with a wealth of experience in the translation field.

The sharing session offered a close-up view of the journey behind each translation, where the translator not only translates words but must also convey the soul and culture of the work. The speaker powerfully inspired HUFLIT students through her experiences and working knowledge. From there, many practical directions opened up for the students’ future career development.

Unique questions and enthusiastic exchanges between students and the speaker extended the resonance of the Talkshow beyond the confines of the hall, proof of the appeal of language and the art of translation.

The 11th season of the FIRC Book Fair closed with a success measured not only by impressive figures for the number of participants or the number of books spread, but also by clear proof of the FIRC student spirit: Dynamic – Bold – Creative. Although the Exhibition space in Hall B has closed and the Talkshow has ended, the flame of passion and the spirit of dedication of FIRC students will keep resonating.

It is exactly the spirit of daring to get involved, the meticulousness in every detail and the limitless ability to connect that have helped generations of FIRC students affirm their own distinct identity at HUFLIT. These experiences are valuable assets, adding motivation for students to step firmly forward and write new, promising chapters on the journey to conquer their passion and future career.
