The first activity was the online campaign “Bringing Spring – Sharing Moments”, which ran from 11 January 2026 to 20 January 2026. Students posted photographs and stories capturing moments of family togetherness at Lunar New Year on their personal Facebook pages, together with the programme’s official hashtag. Through these simple yet moving contributions, the activity helped spread the value of family bonds and reminded everyone to treasure the moments of reunion that are the most sacred part of the traditional New Year.

Following the online activity, the “Bringing Spring to the Children” volunteer programme was held at Mai An Shelter (523A Le Duc Tho, An Hoi Dong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). There, the organising committee and student volunteers presented New Year gifts directly to the orphaned children and children in difficult circumstances being cared for at the shelter. Although the gifts were modest in material terms, they carried love, sharing and the hope of a fuller spring for the children.

Beyond presenting gifts, the “Bringing Spring to the Children” volunteer programme also brought a warm atmosphere through New Year wishes and close, friendly exchanges that let the children feel the care and love of the community. The organising committee hopes that, through such practical acts, the programme can help warm the children’s hearts and give them joy and motivation as they welcome a spring full of love.

The “Bringing Spring to the Children” activities were not only an occasion for students to show their sense of responsibility towards the community, but also helped spread the fine humane values of youth. The programme left behind many meaningful emotions and contributed to the image of HUFLIT students as dynamic, compassionate and always ready to share for the good of the community.

At the HUFLIT Faculty of Foreign Languages, M.A. Tran My Uyen (Vice Dean) goes by many names. Some call her “Ms My”; her students call her “mother”. Colleagues often compare her to Mother Au Co with a hundred children. Yet to become the “mother” of the lecture hall she is today, she went through a profound shift in thinking that completely changed a teaching philosophy built over more than 30 years.

Many students choose the Tourism and Hospitality field simply because they love to travel. But passion alone is not enough to pursue this field in the long run. What matters more is understanding the nature of the discipline, its professional requirements, and the qualities needed to grow in a professional service environment.
