HUFLIT Mentoring: A Bridge Between Generations – Where Alumni and Students Build the Future Together

A connected ecosystem: when those who went before return to guide the next generation

Looking back on the nine-month journey of HUFLIT Mentoring Season 1 with the theme “From Seed to Shine”, the programme’s greatest success lies not only in its impressive numbers (469 mentoring sessions, 56 Mentor – Mentee pairs), but in the formation of a closely bonded community.

Within that ecosystem, many alumni – people who have achieved and continue to achieve success in the labour market – decided to return to their alma mater as Mentors. They bring with them hard-won practical lessons, sharp thinking and even their own setbacks to pass on to the next generation of students.

As the programme’s core philosophy holds: a Mentor does not walk the Mentee’s path for them, but acts as a “lighthouse” that accompanies, listens and unlocks inner potential. This cross-generational connection gives students not only practical knowledge but also a recognition of their own worth, so they can stand confidently at career crossroads. For alumni, it is a wonderful opportunity to contribute value to the community, strengthen their leadership capacity and expand their professional network.

Mentee Orientation Season 2: the first step of a new journey

Building on those lasting values, HUFLIT Mentoring officially returns for Season 2, promising a breakthrough nine-month journey (from September 2026 to May 2027).

Every journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. To help students overcome their hesitation and better understand how this network operates, the Organising Committee is officially launching the Mentee Orientation Season 2 event.

In just two hours of orientation, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain a full understanding of the roadmap and workings of the HUFLIT Mentoring ecosystem.
  • Meet the Organising Committee, the Core Team, and Mentors and Mentees from Season 1 in person to get the most authentic sense of the transformative value the programme delivers.
  • Hear valuable lessons learned, have all questions answered, and be fully prepared before submitting an application.

HUFLIT Mentoring Season 2 roadmap

To become part of this year’s Mentoring community, students should note the following key milestones:

  • Eligibility: All students currently enrolled at HUFLIT (should the number of applications exceed the limit, the Organising Committee will give priority to third- and fourth-year students).
  • Stage 1.1 – Application Round (Mentee Applicant Form): Registration opens from 05/7 until the end of 26/7/2026.
  • Stage 1.2 – Mentee Orientation: Held from 09:00 – 11:00 on Wednesday 15/7/2026 at the Main Hall, Hoc Mon Campus.
  • Stage 2 – Interview Day & Matching: Taking place in August 2026.

If you are ready to write your own breakthrough story and want to connect directly with a network of outstanding alumni, join the Mentee Orientation and complete your application soon. Follow the HUFLIT Mentoring Fanpage regularly so you do not miss any important announcements from the programme.

  • Proud to be HUFLITers #07 | M.A. Tran My Uyen – A lectern where a teacher wishes only to “watch her children grow up”
At the HUFLIT Faculty of Foreign Languages, M.A. Tran My Uyen (Vice Dean) goes by many names. Some call her “Ms My”; her students call her “mother”. Colleagues often compare her to Mother Au Co with a hundred children. Yet to become the “mother” of the lecture hall she is today, she went through a profound shift in thinking that completely changed a teaching philosophy built over more than 30 years.
  • New Cybersecurity Regulations: Opportunities for the Cybersecurity Field in the Digital Era
The new cybersecurity regulations taking effect on 1 July 2026 not only help complete the legal framework but also drive demand for talent in cybersecurity. This is also the moment when the discipline becomes a promising choice for young people who love technology and information security.
  • “GenZ Major Insights 2026” – Episode 9: Boundless Journeys with HUFLIT’s Tourism and Hospitality Programs
Many students choose the Tourism and Hospitality field simply because they love to travel. But passion alone is not enough to pursue this field in the long run. What matters more is understanding the nature of the discipline, its professional requirements, and the qualities needed to grow in a professional service environment.
