HUFLIT's Oriental Studies Program: Mastering the Asian Mindset in an Era of Global Integration
Knowing Japanese or Korean is an advantage – but deeply understanding the culture, mindset and working style of Asian people is the capability that makes a difference in the era of global integration. The Oriental Studies program at HUFLIT is taught through the Area Studies model – combining language, culture and practical expertise – helping you become an irreplaceable professional in FDI enterprises and international organizations.
What is HUFLIT's Oriental Studies program? Who is it for?
The Oriental Studies program at HUFLIT is taught through the Area Studies model, combining language with knowledge of the culture, society and working environment of Japan and Korea. The program not only helps students use foreign languages effectively but also forms cross-cultural thinking and the ability to adapt in a global environment. This is a program suited to those who: • love exploring Japanese and Korean culture • wish to work in international environments and Japanese–Korean enterprises • are interested in developing foreign languages and cross-cultural thinking • aim for diverse careers such as communications, tourism and services.
In a flat world, those who also understand culture always go further than those who only know the language.
