A Decade of the HUFLIT Faculty of Law’s Commitment to Practice-Oriented Legal Education
Established in 2015 as the Law Division, the Faculty of Law at HUFLIT was officially restructured and renamed in 2019 in response to the growing demand for high-quality legal human resources amid reform and international integration.
Over the past decade, the Faculty of Law has continuously refined its training programs, academic staff, and teaching methods with a strong emphasis on integrating theory with practice. These efforts have gradually shaped a dynamic, professional, and modern academic environment.
In line with HUFLIT’s distinctive educational orientation, the Faculty of Law aims to train law graduates with a solid legal foundation, strong foreign language proficiency, and information technology skills, enabling them to work effectively in multicultural and globalized environments. HUFLIT law students are equipped with comprehensive and up-to-date legal knowledge; analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills; specialized legal language competence; technology application skills; and professional ethics and social responsibility. As a result, graduates are well prepared to meet workforce demands in judicial bodies, legal service organizations, and domestic as well as international enterprises.
At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of HUFLIT, emphasized that one of the Faculty of Law’s most distinctive hallmarks throughout its development has been its training philosophy of “bringing law into real life,” placing people at the center and aiming to serve society. According to the Rector, the Faculty’s curriculum goes beyond theoretical instruction and increasingly prioritizes professional skills and the ability to apply legal knowledge to real-life social and business situations.
The University also highly recognized the Faculty’s investment in establishing a Moot Courtroom at the Hóc Môn campus, providing students with hands-on exposure to a professional environment closely aligned with real practice. This initiative is regarded as clear evidence of HUFLIT’s learner-centered approach and its commitment to aligning education with labor market needs.
In addition, the Faculty’s academic staff has been acknowledged as a dedicated, dynamic, and highly qualified core force that actively updates knowledge and accompanies students throughout their studies and career orientation. The Rector further highlighted the Faculty’s close cooperation with more than 20 enterprises, legal practice organizations, and state management agencies, which has significantly expanded internship and employment opportunities and diversified career pathways for graduates.
Entering a new stage of development, the University expressed confidence that the Faculty of Law will continue to build on its achievements, strengthen innovation, expand partnerships, enhance training quality and scientific research, and affirm its position as a reputable, practice-oriented legal education provider aligned with the country’s development needs.
Dr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn – Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University – delivered remarks at the ceremony.
“Not a particularly long journey, yet one that has been sufficient to affirm its identity, position, and development orientation, the Faculty of Law at HUFLIT has gradually left a clear imprint over its 10-year journey of establishment and growth” shared Dr. Hồ Hoàng Đức – Head of the Faculty of Law with pride and emotion, in the presence of the University’s Board of Rectors, partners, distinguished guests, and the entire faculty at the ceremony.
Dr. Hồ Hoàng Đức emphasized that the past decade has been a journey marked by persistent effort, continuous innovation, and a strong aspiration to serve society through legal knowledge.
From its early days as a Law Division facing numerous challenges in terms of human resources and facilities, the Faculty of Law at HUFLIT has steadily developed and shaped an application-oriented training model that closely integrates theory with practice, in alignment with the University’s overall educational philosophy. The achievements witnessed today are the result of collective dedication from the faculty members, the consistent support of the University’s leadership, and the invaluable companionship of partner organizations.
Dr. Hồ Hoàng Đức – Head of the Faculty of Law at HUFLIT – delivered the opening remarks at the ceremony.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Law at HUFLIT (2015–2025), the Faculty of Law respectfully expresses its deepest gratitude to former faculty leaders, former lecturers, and former administrative staff—those who laid the very first foundation stones and made vital contributions to the Faculty’s formation and development during its early years marked by challenges and constraints.
It was the dedication, sense of responsibility, and long-term vision of these predecessors that helped build a solid foundation in organizational structure, academic orientation, and training culture, enabling the Faculty of Law at HUFLIT to gradually affirm its reputation in application-oriented legal education that closely links theory with practice. The quiet yet steadfast contributions of former leaders, lecturers, and staff remain invaluable assets, providing enduring motivation for today’s generations to inherit, further develop, and continue spreading the spirit of serving society through legal knowledge. Each lecture delivered, each research work completed, and each moment of mentorship offered to students has gone beyond professional duty, reflecting genuine devotion and a deep sense of attachment to the Faculty of Law.
Honoring generations of leaders, lecturers, and staff of the Faculty of Law, HUFLIT.
