“WALK TO SAIGON” WELCOMES NEW STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF TOURISM AND HOTELS “WALK TO SAIGON” WELCOMES NEW STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF TOURISM AND HOTELS
With the theme “Walk to Saigon”, the 2024 New Student Welcome Picnic organized by the Youth Union of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality brought an exciting journey, taking students to explore unique play stations associated with famous and familiar locations of the city.
The program takes place with 05 special stations, including: City Theater, Independence Palace, Tao Dan Park, Nguyen Hue Walking Street and City Post Office. Each station brings interesting challenges, helping new students not only have the opportunity to learn more knowledge, but also create conditions to exchange, make friends and explore prominent and impressive destinations of Saigon.
At Tao Dan Park Station, the Organizing Committee will provide props for the teams, including plastic bowls and plastic balls, and divide each team into 10 members, lined up in a vertical line. Each team member will place the plastic bowl on their head, while the plastic ball will be placed on the head of the first person by the Organizing Committee. This person will pass the ball to the second person, and the game continues like that until the last person. This is a challenge that requires dexterity and team spirit, helping students to have fun and bond.
At the City Theater Station, the Organizing Committee will distribute white sand paintings and ask interesting questions to each team. After each correct answer, the team will receive sand color to continue completing their painting.
At Nguyen Hue Walking Street Station , the Organizing Committee will give a group pose and the teams will have to pose as requested. This is a challenge that not only tests the ability to coordinate smoothly between members but also an opportunity for the teams to show their creativity and team spirit, together creating interesting and impressive images.
At Independence Palace Station , each team will select 06 members to participate in the letter matching challenge. Of which, 03 members will pose as a letter, while the remaining 03 members will play the role of guessing the letter that the team has created. When the Organizing Committee gives the required letters, the teams will have to quickly coordinate and pose correctly according to the request.
At the City Post Office , the Organizing Committee will place a piece of cake on the forehead of each team member and ask them to eat all the cake within one minute. In 10 minutes, the team that eats the most cakes will win the number of points corresponding to the number of cakes completed. This challenge is not only fun but also brings excitement and bonding among team members. After finishing, the teams will gather at Tao Dan Park to listen to the Organizing Committee announce the final results, closing a challenging journey and memorable moments of that day.
After the picnic to “visit” famous places in Saigon with the 2024 New Student Welcome Picnic program with the theme “Walk to Saigon”, the Organizing Committee hopes that the new students have had memorable experiences with friends, and at the same time, accumulated teamwork skills, and become more confident to overcome all “thorns” on their university journey at HUFLIT.
