HUFLIT offers internship opportunities in Oita Prefecture, Japan for students
Recently, representatives of Oita Prefecture Administration, Japan and U International Human Co. , Ltd. visited HUFLIT and exchanged opinions on opportunities and cooperation possibilities for international trainee programs in the hotel and restaurant industry in Oita Prefecture.

HUFLIT representatives welcomed distinguished guests including Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – Principal of the School and leaders of Oriental Faculty, Hospitality and Tourism Faculty and Foreign Affairs Department.
At the meeting, Mr. Kamijo Satoshi – Deputy Head of the Promotion Planning Department of the Oita Provincial Administration introduced a few features of Oita, a southern province of Japan with a warm climate. According to Mr. Kamijo Satoshi, Oita province is currently attracting a large number of international students to live and study here, with 15,000/1.1 million people being foreigners, of which 2/3 are Vietnamese.

In addition, Mr. Takanobu Ogi, Head of the International Policy Department, Promotion Planning Department, also added that, in addition to its strengths in technology and agricultural products, Oita is also famous for its Beppu city, known as the “Hot Spring Capital” because it has the largest amount of hot springs in Japan. This is a huge potential for exploiting the ryokan model (traditional Japanese inn). In particular, the shortage of human resources in the tourism and hotel industry after the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic is a potential opportunity for Vietnamese students.
In response, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – Principal of HUFLIT shared that culture, education and the Vietnam – Japan relationship are all long-standing traditions that today’s generation is very fortunate to inherit and preserve. Japan is facing an aging population, and Vietnam is one of the countries with the fastest aging population in the world. Understanding the needs of Oita province in general and Beppu city in particular, HUFLIT hopes to contribute quality human resources with skills and lifelong learning ability to adapt and contribute positively to the ever-changing society. However, choosing a reputable unit, verifying and clarifying the roles of the parties is necessary because HUFLIT, in addition to the students participating in the program, must also be accountable to their parents and society.

Mr. Sasaki Hiroshi – Founder of U International Human Co., Ltd. (operating in the field of human resource development, human resource operations and consulting, and services of sending workers to work abroad) said that he has collected recruitment information and details of conditions from Japanese enterprises wishing to accept interns and will send them to the School soon to serve the implementation of the program.
In the coming time, the two sides will continue to work towards an agreement, thereby providing internship opportunities abroad for HUFLIT students through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement with the Beppu City Inn Association. In particular, the internship of HUFLIT students in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture will be diversified in form according to the needs of students. In the immediate future, with the existing advantage of language, the program can be implemented at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, then expanded to the Faculty of Tourism – Hotel and other related faculties.
