From August 24th to August 26th, 2022, HCMC University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology (HUFLIT) in collaboration with the Institute of Training – Research in Management – Ho Chi Minh City National University (ITRM-VNUHCM), organized a training course on evaluating education programs according to the FIBAA Standards.

FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring and developing the quality of higher education in Europe. Its mission is to accredit, evaluate, and develop educational institutions and programs worldwide. Currently, FIBAA accreditation is one of the reputable and widely recognized certifications in the world.

The training course aimed to introduce the Self-Assessment of Education Programs according to the FIBAA Standards, as well as to share experiences and activities in the process of evaluating education programs, thereby enhancing the capacity for quality assurance work for faculty, lecturers, and specialists at the departments and functional units at HUFLIT.

In the speech at the training session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Manh Ha, HUFLIT Vice-President, emphasized the importance of the quality assurance work for enhancing HUFLIT’s reputation and educational quality. He also provided an overview of the quality assurance activities that HUFLIT has implemented in the past. He hoped that all participants in the training course would grasp new knowledge and experiences from the experts to best support the activities in implementing the quality assurance work according to the FIBAA Standards.

During the course, the participants attentively listened to Dr. Duong Nhu Hung – an expert from the University of Technology, VNUHCM, who has been involved in evaluating 10 undergraduate and postgraduate programs as a Country Expert for FIBAA in Vietnam since 2017. He introduced the FIBAA accreditation standards, including the perspectives, the content of evaluation criteria, assessment scores, resource and quality assurance standards, the preparation steps for the evaluation process, how to write self-assessment reports, and recognize core evidence that meets the criteria in this set of standards. According to Dr. Hung, self-assessment work requires smooth coordination among units in collecting and synthesizing the core evidence.
