Practical and highly applicable training program

To ensure a highly applicable training program while providing a comprehensive foundation of scientific knowledge for students to pursue higher studies and research, the IT program is developed and regularly updated by referencing numerous advanced training programs both domestically and internationally, along with surveying opinions from various stakeholders (experts, enterprises, lecturers, students). The main goal of the training program is for students to be able to apply the latest technologies and techniques to the labor market immediately after graduation, even when they are still in their third or fourth year of study.

Diverse specializations to meet practical needs

The Faculty of Information Technology currently offers four specializations:

  • Data Science:

Data Science is an academic discipline that explores methods for collecting and processing data, followed by the application of algorithms to extract valuable knowledge and information from data. It serves various fields in today’s society.

  • Cybersecurity:

Cybersecurity is understood as a specialized field that aims to protect information networks and computers from the risk of intrusion and theft of confidential information. Its mission is to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber attacks. Cybersecurity experts need to establish robust barriers to defend not only against external attacks but also internal threats.

  • Software Engineering:

Software engineering researches knowledge, tools, and methods for defining software requirements and undertaking tasks such as design, construction, testing, and maintenance of software.

  • Information System:

Information system composed of elements that relate to each other, working together to gather, process, store, and distribute information and data, while providing a feedback mechanism to achieve predetermined goals. Organizations can use information system for various purposes. The specialization in Information System focuses on researching knowledge related to programming, analysis, design, construction, and management of information systems.

These are modern specializations with high demand for human resources in today’s society. Before receiving specialized training, all students are equipped with fundamental knowledge of science and IT to ensure their ability to self-learn and quickly adapt to technological changes in the working environment and pursue higher studies when needed. In the specialization year, students are mainly trained using project-oriented methods, ensuring they are taught theory and become familiar with real-world projects.

Strong bond with businesses in training activities

To ensure a highly applicable training program that keeps up with the latest widely-used technologies in the industry, the FIT closely collaborates with numerous IT companies in Ho Chi Minh City in training activities: building training programs, providing students with a practical internship semester at businesses, regularly organizing company visits to diverse working environments in the IT industry to help students identify suitable career directions after graduation, inviting experts from enterprises to give lectures, and introducing job opportunities to students.
